Seriously, if Albion had somehow sneaked into the playoffs and flukily won them last season, and were then presented with City, Utd and Arsenal as 3 of your first 4 games, how do you think you would have fared so far. At least we both now know what its like to lose 6-1 to a giant but your own goals were far more hilarious than ours.

We would have caned all of them obviously. Adkins is an embarrassing smug ungracious poser so there is no misery to be heaped on him that ain't deserved.

Got no problem with Southampton as a team. Just can't stand him.

I had no problem with Southampton until recently when I discovered that their fans and Munchkins started trying to invent themselves as a sleeping giant that once owned the land of the premiership.

I've reread this thread a few times, but I still can't find the bit where one of 'us' says "we often play well against Liverpool".

serious question - if you could choose between getting well beaten frequently and generally struggling for points at the arse end of the premiership or dominating and outplaying teams in the championship what would it be?

Reckon quite a few fans seem to have decided for the latter based on empty seats at home games.

Well for one thing we wouldn't have spunked £20m+ on two players instead of sorting out our shaky defence!

We weren't nearly good enough to go up, but had we have been better than we were, and then strengthened over the summer, how would we have done? All a bit too hypothetical.

It's no disgrace losing to last year's top 3, but also losing 2 nil to Wigan at home after the money you've spent is not good is it.

With a 90 million windfall Gus and Tony would not have spunked 20 million on two forward players without also strengthening the defence and midfield.Tony is a lifelong Brighton fan and Gus understands how to build a team.Your money man is a banker and Aidkins is a physio, fcuk off and enjoy losing on a regular basis

I've just got back from the Emirates, they were pretty shit today. In fairness, they did have a go but Arsenal just got in behind them far too easily.

There game plan seemed to be to pass it sideways for a bit then hit the diagonal ball to Lambert. When that didn't work they seem to run out of ideas.

I tried not to laugh whilst watching but couldn't help myself.

Fair point but if you outplay every team in the Championship you'll more than likely end up in the Prem which is nearly always tough at the beginning.

Lets wait a few months and see if you do end up outplaying every team in the Championship, not just the crap ones (the team you outplayed last night were tragic IMO), and lets see how we get on against the teams who arent global brands accross the world.
