And absolutely this.

Once the season starts, if Aaron’s in the squad, those that matter at the club believe in and are backing him and that’s enough for me.

No one would be more delighted than me to see AC be a success for us.
I would be delighted too - but I really can't see it, not this season anyway. IMHO more than anything he needs a loan at a level where he will become the top notch goal machine he was in PL2. I don't know at what level that would be - League 1 or Championship (or maybe jockland) I would think.

Hibs would be a 'shoe in' deal shirley? Or maybe within touching distance of a starting line-up place at Celtic?

Last season was massively frustrating when - apart from a few stand-out results - it just felt like our points total didn't wholly reflect the quality and fluidity of our play. For me, Connolly's off-field choices became a bit of a lightening rod for my frustrations which I accept is more my problem than his.

But I generally like to start a new season with a clean slate for everybody with a squad number so I'm going to draw a line under everything that did or didn't happen last year and hope that Aaron has a successful season with us.

This is where I am. It might transpire that it's decided that the best thing for his development would be a year's loan in the Championship and, if that's what the key parties involved decide, more than happy with it. Next season, Connolly's game time depends as much on what happens with Andone, Zeqiri and a possible new signing, as it does with him.

Away from the bright lights of Brighton to somewhere grim in the championship maybe. Middlesbrough could fit the bill. A season under Colin might straighten him out. Horrible dinosaur but he wouldn't tolerate any wayward nonsense from him.

Still in Brighton
As the fans seem a bit anti and impatient with him and when he did score he did the stupid cupped ear thing then the player/fan relationship does seem a bit negative and toxic and for that reason he should head out on loan. If he doesn't and then more "rumours" appear and/or he doesn't play well or score then I can't see it being good for him. Only suppose though that what happens if he refuses a loan like, allegedly, he previously did?

You’re not wrong… and at the moment I can’t see it either.

But goalscoring is a very specialist position with ridiculous fine margins of success and failure. If Aaron gets a few of those tap ins he missed last season he goes on a run and maybe even gets the same number of goals as Maupay.

Have to trust the gaffers judgement. We’ll find out his decision on AC come start of the season.

I'm 32 and stopped following what people born in 2000 do on Instagram before Instagram was even invented. I dont give a shit about Instagram and I dont give a shit about what the friend of someones friend has to say in some shitty tabloid about what Connolly does on a Friday night. I have no clue what his attitude is and no one else knows either except for those close to him, none of which are here since everyone is a 50+ bald drunk who wouldnt be allowed anywhere near a Brighton dressing room as long as Brighton is a professional football club. No one here knows how he behaves in training or with his team mates. I dont give a shit about his clothes, ex-girlfriend or what his house looks like.

People say they are tired of him being in the tabloids, well easily solution - stop reading the shit. Tabloids is garbage produced by garbage people and consumed by garbage people.

Can't disagree with that, Swanny old son.

Send him to whoever is being managed by Pardew.

The incentive of being around him as much as possible by playing well reduces the chance of not knowing where he is with a GF like that.
