This is all a conspiracy. Giles Clarke has clearly ordered England to lose this test. It seems obvious that as this series is not quite living up to the exploits of '05, Mr Clarke and the rest of the ECB has deemed that the series has to go down to the last test - which entails us losing this one, so we go into test 5 at 1-1 with all to play for. If we won this one, interest would wane a little and they may fail to sell any remaining tickets for the last test.

The 199 against South Africa summed Bell up, great score, but still failed to convert it to a double century.

The batting competition is a little light, but we knew that before the series.
