I must admit to having a couple of those inexplicable moments myself when playing footy, including 'saving' a ball that was going wide, and I wasn't the keeper!
To be fair to any lower league manager, if they have a good striker on their hands and it's getting towards summer or the January window it makes sense to big 'em up in order to increase the possibility of a transfer fee if they are resigned to losing them.
Quality stadium though... shame they can't make all the stands the same size, would be awesome. But being in the city centre I don't believe they can extend the smaller stands.
Can I be a devils advocate here? Is it possible the ball has been headed by the Stains player (out of sight) and the ball is already goal-ward bound and that outstretched hand could actually be nowhere near the ball? I'm just looking at angles, didn't watch the game.
