They do help technique, but they're not useless even if you have good technique. They strengthen feet and legs significantly and make other injuries less likely.

Just walked home from centre of Brum, snow stopped and roads seem to be clearing. I'd say provided we don't get another downpour they'll have things in reasonable condition around the ground by tomorrow. My bet: on.

I just walked from Edgbaston to the centre of Brum. Few centimetres of crunchy snow underfoot was fine, but the roads are absolute carnage. Ring road is solid in both directions, cars sliding and wheel spinning.
Completely agree - I follow all the rumours on here, twitter, Facebook but it's always hard to pick out the genuine news from all the bollocks. At least you know Naylor won't say something without decent evidence (even if he is sometimes wrong). So definitely not irrelevant.
Don't know about expecting, but something that would make a big difference to me would be a really cool way of doing word processing. I know this might sound a bit weird, but I quite often need to work on short train journeys for example and I don't always want to have to carry a netbook / ipad...
