With 20,000 people calling him a wanker is it any wonder that he responds by sticking the ball in the net? If he wasn't already psyched for the match, he would have been after that....
Well said. At the end of the day does it really matter as it has no effect on the outcome of the game? If you want to clap do so, if you don't stay silent.
With 4 games left this season, surely now's the time to get behind the team and cut out the negativity? The moaners have had almost the whole season to have a go at Barnes, CMS, Brezovan et al. If they aren't good enough at this level, I'll trust Gus to decide whether they should stay or go over...
Had a pint of Dark Star Six Hop ale in the Duke of Wellington in Shoreham last night. At 6.7% it's a beer to be enjoyed in moderation. If you like beers from micro breweries the Wellington is well worth a visit.
Schools are a bit like football teams in that they invariably have their ups and downs so that a school that is currently 'flavour of the month' might not be in 5 years time. Hove Park (where my son went) has had its fair share of problems and bad publicity in recent years though with a new...
Pathetic post in my opinion. Players do come good - you only have to look at Ashley Barnes who has had more than his share of negative comments in the past few months.
Stayed to the final whistle as I always do and still got a train back to Brighton almost straight away. Mind you it does help sitting in the North Stand as it's the shortest walk/run to the station.
Thanks very much for such a detailed reply. The Chesterfield game was indeed my very first Albion game followed by Barnsley the same season. The Halifax game I went to was the following season when we won 2/1 I think.
Does anyone know if there is a website with past Albion results on it? It's a long time ago now but I think the first Albion games I saw were in the early 1970s against Chesterfield, Barnsley & Halifax though I can't remember the scores or who played apart from Brian Powney and the Napier...
Does anyone know whether 2 pay 4 travel train tickets can be booked on line? I've had a look at the Southern website but couldn't find a way of purchasing these.
An interesting comment re hatred in football made by Neil Warnock the other day:
When you see the hatred in some of these guys’ faces, it’s frightening. ‘You’re probably talking about guys who wear suits to work all week. It’s all very well to say you’re getting rid of the excess when you go...
I appreciate that there are all sorts of reasons while people want to leave early but spare a thought for those of us who want to watch the game to the end without our view of the pitch being constantly interrupted by people leaving their seats. A few of the early leavers ooked a bit sheepish...
