TBF, his comments on Brexit almost mirror those of Starmer - neither wanted it, but both realise there's no going back.

Nearly 1/2 a century ago - I guess the UK doesn't have much of an appetite for socialism.

Supporters of JC and BJ In their own way, both as bad as each other. If you want to know why some supporters of JC are so vile, we'd be opening up once again the whole antisemitism can of worms. Yes, I'm a centrist/moderate and feel that's where the majority of sensible people sit.

When was the last time the UK had a Labour Govt. led by a socialist?

Agree - although he would just be a Johnson puppet as he has been for the last two years - in addition he was the WORST foreign sec. ever (and that's saying something seeing as Johnson also held that post) and sat on the beach whist the Afghanistan evacuation crisis unfolded. Unforgiveable.

I could certainly vote for him. Common sense, centre ground politics. Listening to him and Alistair Campbell on their podcast shows us what we are currently missing in British politics. We need a new Party - and it is possible - look at Macron in France - he completely changed the dynamics...

As I said on another thread, Blair had the opportunity to change the voting system, but didn't. FPTP suits the Tories - AND Labour.

Hardly surprising - if he loses pretty much the whole cabinet will be gone - turkeys and Christmas etc.

Normally agree with you on pretty much most things (and agree 100% on the vaccine rollout and his general ineptness) - and I desperately want him gone - but don't underestimate how much military support the UK has given and continues to give Ukraine.

especially with two byelections coming up, both of which they are going to lose.

What I don't understand is WHY the Labour Party wants Johnson out. The whole country knows he lied - he personally may be safe but the Tories lost the election yesterday when he failed to resign. Look at the recent local elections - 500+ Tory Councillors voted out - not due to local politics...

Point taken re desks etc. and I take your point regarding commuting but there has to be a balance. My point is (and my wife is a Civil Servant so I hear about this issue every day) SOME are taking the mick. Three examples (all from last week) "Can we delay this afternoon' s (virtual)...

Agree 100% on both the issue of Rwanda and the tone of JRM's note (he's a ****) - BUT with regards to the underlying point regarding Civil Servants returning to work, he is actually correct.

Problem is that Hunt, Tugendhat and Wallace will split the anti-Truss vote. She cannot become PM - she is USELESS.
