I kind of expected that to be honest, seeing that they said at the last review the next landmark date would be 4th July which was well over a month away, I’m not sure they would have changed anything until then anyway. It will still give hospitality plenty of notice as to when they can reopen a...

I don’t think anyone is questioning the mortality rate, or questioning the governments way of handling it, although I’m not convinced a labour government would have done things much differently. What I do have issue with is the sensationalist claims of a 2nd wave, there is zero evidence of such...

You sound like the hysteric women that post on the pictures of Brighton Beach that The Argus keep posting, is your name Karen By any chance, she posts saying there will definitely be a second spike, even though there’s no evidence anywhere in the world of one !

I’m sure you don’t, but you seem to take pleasure in predicting one, even though no other country has seen one, if you think scenes like Brighton beach today aren’t happening in other countries you’re very niave.

No one knows, but I am bored of the doomsayers now, when we were first locked down I felt a real change in the public, everyone seemed to pull together and I honestly thought we’d come out of all this a better nation for it. But now as the restrictions are eased it seems even more divided, even...

I’m pretty sure you said similar after the Easter weekend......and then again after VE Day, it’s almost as if you want there to be a 2nd wave.

I believe they said they only need to trace people you’ve been in close contact with for over 15 minutes, so unless you stand nattering to a shop keeper or another shopper for ages, shops are unlikely to come into the equation.

Could it be that some deaths around that time were put down to flu as obviously covid won’t have been tested for ? I know the flu death rate this year was quite high, and put down to the flu jab not being as successful as in previous years ?

I’ve read the same, and can certainly see the theory behind it, and just about everyone I’ve spoken to had symptoms in December and January so I guess it’s a real possibility. The antibody test will go a long way to proving or unproving it I guess.

I’m in a very similar situation, we live in a very rural setting and have been inundated with walkers, I agree it is difficult.

Exactly what I’ve been saying all along, all that is needed is for people to make sensible decisions, if it’s busy go somewhere else ! People cannot complain about the lack of social distancing if they are part of the problem!

People were saying we’d have another peak around now due to VE Day shenanigans, I haven’t seen that yet either.

Forgive me and please don’t think I’m judging you in the slightest, but what is your thinking behind your decision that it will be ok to send them in September and not in June ? There’s no guarantee that this situation will be any better in September in fact I’d go as far as to say I think...

Even 49 new cases is massively good news in a population of 9m people ! As for the fact hundreds of cases that did not need treatment.....hasn’t that been the same from the start ? I’d go as far as to say at the peak there were probably thousands of cases that didn’t need hospital treatment.

With respect that article clearly states that the data includes care homes and hospitals, that really shouldn’t be taken into consideration when you’re talking about the level of community infection. An elderly person in a care home is not going to infect anyone outside of that care home !

Yep you’re right zero understanding of economics, I’ve only run my own very successful business for the last 30 years through several recessions. Perhaps I shouldn’t make off the cuff remarks that strangers on the internet disagree with, my apologies and thanks for explanation x
