Combat service in Vietman put him in good stead. He’s a fighter.
He had deferment 5 times - the only fighting he did was in avoiding the draft

Woooosh 🙂

Still no word from the current president or vice I take it.

The shooter’s twitter and general bio will be all over social media over the following days, and it’ll be (morbidly) interesting to see how (if) the mainstream media spin or tangle a story.

President Biden doing a press conference - calls the violence sick and said the ‘idea that there’s political violence like this in America is unheard of and everyone should condemn it’

Political violence isn't really unheard of in US politics is it?

That’s what the commentator on the stream was saying - don’t shoot the messenger - it was in quotation marks to demonstrate they weren’t my words.

I assume he meant violence of the type we are seeing in America right now - where America is now so politically divided that a Candidate gets shot at his own campaign rally - it’s not one nutter acting out of context, there is a sense of widespread potential violence here - especially when you look back at Jan 6 . 🤷🏻‍♂️ Haven’t seen this depth of divide since the Civil war have we?

BBC's Gary O'Donoghue isn't looking like a man who was expecting to have to do much to camera today.
To borrow that memorable phrase once used about John McCarrick, he looks like a hedge dragged through a man backwards.
