He’s just reporting where the club probably are. The squad is in flux, they’ve a pre season to see how he adapts, the coach will want a good luck and a loan - at some point - is certain to be one of the options. I’d be amazed if they’d be ruling out any of the above before he’s arrived unlike some of the loans that are announced on day 1 . (Eg Adingra, MacAllister etc)
Adingra and Mac Allister were loaned because they didn't qualify for a work permit straight away. With the recent change in work permit rules that pretty much gives a club 4 signings a season that can by-pass the 15 points required for a work permit things will be different now and we can take a look at new players and how they bed in with the squad etc before deciding their development path in fine detail.

One for the future or will he do a Caicedo and Enciso and adapt straight away? I appreciate nobody has a clue but I'll take anything pulled out of your arse at this stage

Adapt ‘straight away’?

Caicedo had months in the U23s, and then a loan spell at the bottom of the Belgian league, before he got near the first team! Enciso was into our first team squad fairly quick, but utterly out of his depth for his first half season (at least).

oh DO forgive me I was just passing on the received wisdom as represented by Wozza below. But as to the question I actually posed, I'm not clear what you are saying, unless you are saying our new guy should be packed off to the Belgian league

It's a possibility

He's an 18 year old, and let's not look at Yamal and think that's a normal development path

Foreign loan wouldn't be my preferred option. I'd like to get the lad here, get him playing our football and have him as an u23 / fringe player for 6 months see where he is, then look to loan and if successful, first team the following year.

Huh? I suggested he could have been introduced to the first team sooner - not that he was.

Spoke to a young Swedish guy on holiday last week and he saw him play in Stockholm this year and said he was by far the best player on the park and everyone was talking about him. Think we
Might have a gem here.
