Indeed...or maybe even the main target in this case
'These co-ordinated Russian missile strikes on Ukraine come just ahead of the Nato summit in Washington.
Military support for Ukraine was already top of the agenda - but there will now be more of a sense of urgency.
Many will see the timing of the attacks, likely ordered by President Putin, as no coincidence as Nato leaders mark the Alliance's 75th anniversary.'

Yes, that timing makes sense.

Can you please point me to the video from the Business Secretary (Farage thread?) - I can't locate it for some reason. Thanks 👍🏼.

Is Putin that stupid, doesn't he understand it will make the West even more determined to support Ukraine.

No space for Xi Jinping in your list?
Can add Iran’s clerics and Israel's government plus Hamas. I'm sure there are a number of African rulers the world would be a better place without.

Exactly. I was in the middle of writing much the same thing.

Just before the NATO summit, Putin goes for the softest of targets - children in hospital. In the belief that his brutal tactics will influence NATO decisions.

Another strategic mistake by Putin.

Obviously there are many wronguns around the world, but if just listing the ones that would have the most impact on life on earth...

It's Putin's brutal way of thumbing his nose at NATO.
Sadly, you are probably right. he knows he is fireproof just so long as he doesn't travel outside Russia other than China and NK.

I don't think he knows that at all. Quite the opposite in fact.
I think he knows that he is about as far from fireproof, as any tyrant who has messed up so comprehensively, can possibly be.

His attack on the Ukrainian children in hospital is a sign of a desperate man*. Sick Ukrainian children are not a military target. They have no bearing on what happens on the battlefield. It is bravado, posturing, a message, for his main audience - those in the Kremlin.

He knows that millions, upon untold millions, of people worldwide, want to see him dead. I suspect that several million in the Russian Federation also want him dead. He will know this.

And then, there are those in the Kremlin. Very little news of infighting emerges from the Kremlin. We probably won't know if there is any, until it has happened.

*Such attacks may, or may not, mark the extent of his desperation.
