Sussex, by the sea
One parent family with 11 kids, couldn't afford toys, never even had a teddy bear or anything cuddly.
We used to make stuff from what we could find and rescued things from rubbish bins or dump sites.
Many a skateboard fashioned from a plank and old roller skates, go karts make from wooden boxes and pram wheels etc.
When I was working , paper round etc. I got myself a Hotwheels set and track, used to like that and then graduated on to Scalectrix.
Now I am on to Saxophones and Clarinets etc. can be quite an expensive hobby !

similar with bass guitars . . . I do sell one every now and then in a vain attempt to appease the wife. Apparently 10 is too many, who knew! I still have my forst bass, I got when I was 14 . . .I actually played ot for a few songs in rehearsal last night. Collection fully justified IMO!

Ooh that looks good!

I spent so many hours playing it as a teenager.

Bought it myself a month or two ago and been playing it with my boy.

Its still brilliant.

At my last count I had 2 x tenor saxes, 6 x alto, 1 x soprano, 4 x clarinets, 1 x trumpet, 6 x harmonicas and a set of zurna pipes, throw in a 6 string accoustic and electric piano to complete the set.
Wife thinks I should invest more on the house now !

Not a toy as such, but for a good few years I was always in them, wore the stoppers out too.

MY daughter always tells people that we don't have any money because my dad spends it all on guitars.

I wouldn't mind but I don't have many and the ones I do have aren't really all that.

2 electric basses (a knackered old squire and a newish SUB (Music man cheap version but actually really good).

1 Cort acoustic bass

A Japanese fender acoustic guitar

A Cheapo epiphone electric guitar that is on its way out because a mate just gave me his old electric and its better.

Not really many.

Especially given that all the money I have spent on her over the years I could have a Rickenbaker and a ****ing Stingray

Love her though.
