Battery operated record player. It was made by Mettoy exactly like the one below.

I blame it for the obsession for turntables I have today.

I also loved Lego

In the 90s I was 15 and got a weekend job as a marshall at a Quasar centre. By 16 I had keys.
God me and my mates had some fun in there playing Quasar, arcade machines, pinball, banging 90s old school and partying/entertaining all through the night, crazy times

You would’ve been my 12 year old selfs hero, watching you handle your unlimited playtime power like a god.

The king of board games. Really need to get one and crapped all over the dull Risk game. Also loved Crossfire and Battling Tops

Biggest anti climatic toy I can recall was Flight Deck. Great advert but in reality was utter garbage.

One parent family with 11 kids, couldn't afford toys, never even had a teddy bear or anything cuddly.
We used to make stuff from what we could find and rescued things from rubbish bins or dump sites.
Many a skateboard fashioned from a plank and old roller skates, go karts make from wooden boxes and pram wheels etc.
When I was working , paper round etc. I got myself a Hotwheels set and track, used to like that and then graduated on to Scalectrix.
Now I am on to Saxophones and Clarinets etc. can be quite an expensive hobby !

Action Man
Escape From Colditz
Battling Tops
Subbuteo (glue and bluetac repairs prominent...)

all “ticks”

But my standout childhood play memory is of a box of toy soldiers, cowboys and “Indians”. We also had a small plastic fort and the favourite game involved a sibling - first rolling and then throwing marbles back and forth at each other’s army. Both good fun and quite dangerous.

My group regularly played with their little Dinkys but owning a Johnny 7 was the tops.
