It does seem as though some applications went missing at the Swansea game.
Who was in charge of them?

I'm entering very late in this splendidly draining debate and am hardly the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but...

What is the point in the database system if the club can't record away loyalty?

Surely it can't be hard for them to operate this sort of scheme - when you buy an away ticket, you get a point on your record, and then those with the most points get priority...and people who get their ticket at the ground can send in their stub for the point.

This would also encourage people to want the fact they were at a game recorded, allowing the club to know exactly who was at each game - which I seem to recall was the point of the AMS?

In an ideal world something along these lines should be done. Have said before that I am not a fan of some of the things the FA have done with Englandfans, but their system that 70% of the tickets go to those with the most points and the other 30% are balloted to everyone else that applies is a pretty fair way of doing things.

Everytime we get a 'big' game then it goes tits up , same with Spurs game, same with the Play Off final.
I think it just sums up the idiot who is Chief Executive as that is where the buck stops and no wonder we haven't got a new ground yet

How would i know?I'm pissed.
Instead of Ranting, surely your time would be better spent sourcing tickets from elsewhere, like West Ham Ticket Office, etc.
Better to be there and in the wrong end, than not be there at all.

Anyone handing in at the shop (or within hours of the draw) should have been put to the bottom of those applying as they'd been told to do VIA POST or VIA THE BINS.

Why should those that dropped them off in person be put to the bottom? As I understand it, it is written applications, ie the club will not sell you tickets in person, you have to write in, how people deliver these is up to them.

Details were announced Monday. Swansea game was on Tuesday with the applications to be treated as if they arrived Wed morning.

Are you saying that a steward or someone lost a box of applications from Tuesday night?

No, I'm saying the box of applications from Tuesday night was put behind postal applications and people handing them in at the counter.

Wasn't that a couple of days after the ticket allocation details were announced though?

BTW, I have got a ticket for every Albion game I've ever wanted to go to, either by putting in the application as soon as the details are announced, or through asking for tickets in pubs around the ground before the game. If you get to a pub that is full of Albion, I garauntee someone will have a spare ticket. It's never let me down before. A bit of a risk, but at least it's only in London. I once got in at Reading when some bloke gave me a photocopied ticket on a bit of white paper. It didn't even have a perforated strip on it!

I think that unless you sit on the internet all day and live in the vicinity of Brighton, posting or dropping off at the Swansea game would have been the same, ie arrived on the Wednesday. I didn't see the club website annoucement until after the last post on the Monday. Other STH at the Swansea game who don't check the internet regularly hadn't heard at all. It wouldn't have been unreasonable to announce the details at the Swansea game, but what is done is done. This will happen again if demand outstrips supply.

Slightly frustrating especially as I'm sure someone from the club said that all applicants at the Swansea game would get tickets. Having said that I've been to other sold out aways, not Spurs, and here's looking forward to the replay and further discussion about who should get tickets!

And? Just because people had written in and handed them in doesn't mean they should be penalised does it? If I could have got into the ticket office instead of having to go straight to the ground I would have done the same.

People had been posting them since Monday afternoon right through Tuesday + whatever arrived in the post Tues and Wed morning.

Ouch. That's tough Pete. You should have chucked that in for good measure, as STHs with Millwall were No.1 priority.

I think the code for your envelope would have been, "STHAMSWITHMILLWALLSTUBUBERFAN". [Not that I found it a bit complicated!]
