If you live in a country all citizens need to be subject to the same judicial processes. I am sure someone will point out instances where this is not the case - but the general point stands. There was an interesting Panorama recently on these courts which showed some of the problems, particularly towards women who may not have wanted to be before the Sharia court, and straying into areas where they have no jurisdiction.
And on a previous posting I think you suggested that because there were white people involved in paedophile rings there was not a particular problem with some Asian men. It does not look that way from here. And it stems from an attitude that does not respect young white women.
I understand wanting to put some balance into a discussion - but there are issues that need to be recognised and addressed.
I appreciate what you are saying and have not heard about those sharia courts that have strayed out of their juruisdiction.
So there is a particular problem with muslim pedophiles stemming from disrespect for white women. Do you have a link about this to save me a bit of googling?
I agree with the fact that some radical Muslims are causing issues and that they need to be addressed. However i don't see how the generalisations and blaket statements exhibited on this thread help the situation.
In fact i think it makes it worse by widening the divide and driving moderate muslims into the arms of the radicals.
I do feel the need to add some balance because it seems like all Muslims are being blamed for the actions of a few. I just do not beleive that this should be the case and i feel the need to stand up for decent people who are being lumped in with scum purely because the share their religious beliefs.
