They should have built this.....
Now if you had started the thread with a good suggestion like that Nibble, instead of some overblown old leisure centre with pools, ice rinks, climbing walls, tennis/squash/badminton courts, gyms, cafes, restaurants, etc i think you would have got a better reaction
I would have got exactly the same reaction from folks who like to argue and pretend they know everything about Brighton.

No, you just have a low tolerance threshold when it comes to some else's opinion.
*Thinks: child-smacking thread, and wanders off...*
getting back to the point
I would have tried to make the houses/flats for local people...not sure how though
I always thought it would have made a great leisure centre too, infact I think I suggested it once in a crap geography project we had to do.
That said, it is BETTER than nothing, having such a huge area of wasteland in central Brighton was criminal. I think the need for a leisure centre was going to diminish by the new work at Black Rock, King Alfred et all, which still hasn't appeared yet.
For a start dont make 2 bed flats START from £280,000
I wonder if you could somehow just sell to people on the electoral role?
That's the umpteenth time I've seen 'roll' spelled wrongly this week. Is it this week's misspelled word or something?
Not at all. I didn't become abusive or name call once in this thread. Unlike you my friend.
On the smacking issue I stand by my beliefs so referencing something completely out of context isn't really going to help you with your ill founded argument.
I have a very high tolerance for other people's opinion I just get agitated when peopel like you resort to semantics, name calling and splitting hairs whilst ignoring the debate. You tend to dig at the person rather than move the debate forward.
The smacking thing became heated because it is ahighly charged issue, this issue is just a regular debate which you decided to get nasty in once you began to lose ground.
So there!
Wanders off to a thread on a slightly less weighty issue where he may have a chance of holding his own.
