Yet we ran out of players last season. It looks decent squad on paper, but it did last summer as wellThe idea that Brighton has a thin squad is something invented by RDZ and his followers.

And immediately someone spells his name incorrectly!I like this signing, the song permutations are endless,I'm not too bothered what time of day we signed him as I doubt it will effect his future stats.
Welcome to Brighton and Hove Albion Yakuba
It looked a decent squad on paper last year because it was a decent squad which also ended up in a decent position in the league, despite the manager trolling for at least 6 months.Yet we ran out of players last season. It looks decent squad on paper, but it did last summer as well
We can always go for Jake the Peg on the other wing to compensate.Very one footed, hopefully he'll work on that.
Maybe get some helpAt the peak of "the squad is too thin, our horrible club is EVIL to our cult leader!" after the Roma game,
Absolute cast iron guarantee his dressing room nickname will be ‘Polo’. Or, if you‘re from Hull it’ll be ‘Per-Ler’.Does anybody else read his name as Minty, but in a Mancunian accent?
We just ran out of decent (fit) wide players……It looked a decent squad on paper last year because it was a decent squad which also ended up in a decent position in the league, despite the manager trolling for at least 6 months.
At no point did the team run out of players. Brighton never faced any issue like that. At the peak of "the squad is too thin, our horrible club is EVIL to our cult leader!" after the Roma game, Brighton had Baleba, Ferguson, Fati, Veltman, Verbruggen, Webster, Lallana and Moder on the bench that day in Rome.
As I've said, the perception of the squad depth was a mix of the worshipped cult leader blaming his failures on it, along with the general mindset of people that "the more things I buy the better things get". The idea that Brighton had or has a small squad has zero basis in reality.
Cue NSC confusion as to why we're signing more wide playersWe just ran out of decent (fit) wide players……
In fairness the manager did seem to lose interest, sporadically, from Roma away until a few weeks before the end of the season tooWe just ran out of decent (fit) wide players……
When does a top club sign a player that has missed half a whole of season before because of injury ? Solly and Mitoma are going nowhere until Jan at least unless we want to sell them.there are comments (here, twatter etc) suggesting that either Mitoma or Solly are off due to this, and other potential signings. I dont understand this at all, given that the main reason for the bad end to last season was due to player injuries. We NEED more players, not just change the ones we have for someone else, the squad needs proper strength in depth not just a main player and a half decent backup- how many of us look enviously at Liverpool,City, Arsenal etc who can put out two or even three different teams, all capable of being at the top of the league- i see these new signings as the next stage in the clubs evolution, the fact that IF everyone is fit, no one suspended, on international duty, or sick, we have first team quality players having to compete for their place in the team is exactly what we need. Im hoping for a few more signings so that guessing our best 11 becomes a complete nightmare for us fans, and the opposition
Never happened. We just ran out of the one world class player that made RDZs football look "exciting" - Mitoma, and a good right winger in the shape of March. We just ran out of decent (fit) wide players……
Indeed. Also there's not one top club on the planet who have any interest in signing a 30-year-old Solly March. He'll be around until he retires or isn't wanted anymore. When does a top club sign a player that has missed half a whole of season before because of injury ? Solly and Mitoma are going nowhere until Jan at least unless we want to sell them.
despite the manager trolling for at least 6 months.
Course it did. March and Mitoma are true, experienced wide players and the best we had in their positions. Enciso missed most of the season through injury, Fati was just starting to cook when he got injured and with Fergie either ill, misfiring or then injured Welbeck had to play centrally. All of them are a downgrade on the wing compared to March and Mitoma.Never happened. But still there was Ansu Fati who had just played 51 games in Barcas title winning season, Simon Adingra who quickly proved to be a good player, Danny Welbeck who has played on the left wing nearly as much as CF in his career. Barco, Pedro and Enciso are also perfectly capable of operating on the wing.
And if for some reason (such as incompetence) you can't get a tune out of that lot, there's always the option to play a more narrow football using the wealth of attacking midfielders and strikers in a different way. But then again we looked like a Championship team anytime we played anything other than 4-2-3-1, so maybe it was a case of RDZ accepting his limitations.

So bit how City had KDB injured or semi-injured for most of the season, how Arsenal had a starter in Timber getting injured and missing the season, Liverpool sometimes playing games without ANY but one or two first team players on the bench, Aston Villa losing four starting players to injuries for most of the season... list goes on until the very bottom with Sheffield starting the season with 10 injured players.Course it did.
