I was becoming more and more underwhelmed with Adringa as the season drew to a close, but I’m putting that down to fatigue, he was played to death due to the injuries and AFCON didn’t help.

agree , there was a moment where Mitoma was first out and Adingra really stepped up. It looked like he was jut going to take over as the main man. Unfortunately this came with pressure and it didnt quite work like that. If it did then we would of had another superstar on our hands.

Adingra will work best when he isnt being relied upon so much. Hopefully the breathing space will give him time to become more consistent. On his day he is fantastic and has the potential to get 10 + goals a season

He’s h
Hardly going to start many games but he is an option off the bench for the last 20 minutes of games.
Surely, given the transfer fee it's start / feature in every game. I get his age and I get he's a player signed for his potential, but Brighton signing someone for £30m? We can't be talking about loaning him

My hunch is that Adingra starts initially on the right and Minteh is the impact sub and we'll see if he can arm wrestle the shirt off him

I reckon March will return sometime in the winter and resume his career more as a wing back or possibly a full back
agreed.

Cant see Bloom spending £30m for a player to warm the bench. Does he play on right or left
I think this could be similar to the Baleba signing. What looks like a huge fee for a young player that may not be completely ready, but could end up looking like a bargain.

It's the type of wonder kid we couldn't/wouldn't sign 3 years ago.

Jessie J - Price Tag (It's not about the Money)

Seems like he's an expensive price
Have they got their numbers right?
When the sale comes first and the truth comes second
Just stop for a minute and smile
Why is everybody so serious?
is Romano is a legit source?
He landed in Newcastle and immediately said "bye"

[Pre-Chorus]
I heard he can play on the left
I heard he can play on the right
Can you feel that? Yeah
We're paying with flair tonight

[Chrous}
It's not about the money, money, money
He's Yankuba Minteh Minteh Minteh
We just wanna watch his feet dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the, uh, cha-ching, cha-ching
Cos he plays on the (uh huh) the-wing the-wing
Wanna watch his feet dance
Forget about the price tag

Hope this is a good move. The Athletic article suggests from this from Lyon rumours

  • Minteh was seen as part of the solution for weeks, but Lyon’s £40m offer led to Newcastle holding out for that valuation, despite the player being reluctant to move and the club aggressively attempting to convince him to’
It’s fine - Minteh’s issue was he wanted to sign with a Premier League club ( or stay signed to Newcastle and play for Newcastle) not a European league as I was trying to explain above - clearly Brighton is a better option than Everton or Forest which were the other possibilities so we have given him exactly what he wanted (and Newcastle less than Lyon would have paid for him apparently to boot).

If he’s as good as he appears to be (and as ambitious) and copes with the pace and intensity of the EPL, we wont hold him for more than a few seasons anyway but we will make a good profit on him I reckon.

He's the player Newcastle have to sell to make P&S rules. And therefore the price will be dropping into 'value' as we approach the end of the month.

Newcastle signed him a year ago for about £6m, and after a year playing in the Dutch league, we've just paid £30m. Is this a good deal?

Certainly a good deal for them. Hopefully turns out to be good for everyone. Downside with shopping in England - it gets pretty expensive. But if he ends up as good as Tross or Mitoma, then its easily worth it.

It certainly is for Newcastle as it will show as about £24m in pure profit for their PSR (less any sell on owed to OB). It's a big fee for us, but if it works out then we will have signed a gem and his stats etc look impressive from what's been posted on this thread, lets hope that translates to performances in the PL.

What happened to buying these players a year earlier for £6m?
