WTF can you get some petrol in this county ?

Hey ho - I filled up oblivious on Monday morning...what a stroke of luck considering I only do about 16 miles a day....so I should run out right when the real strike is called
I'd STRONGLY advise you to start PANIC DRIVING as soon as possible. If you double your daily journeys, you might get to run out just in time to join the queues when they reach their worst.

The end of the tax year.........

Create a panic buying epidemic, get all the extra taxation on the fuel for the year, genius some might say........

The AA said today that since the annoucement from the tanke driver's unions etc that an extra £30million in tax has been/will be paid!

But we are all stupid as we all want to fill our cars up just incase of emergency/getting to work etc.

I blame the truckers unions as they caused all of this just after the budget was announced when it was topical and people are already worrying about finances etc. Unions probably advised by the government.

Should be a mimimum input of £30. That would stop people queueing up to top up with the odd tenner "Just in case". I swear some people actually enjoy panicking.

We're doomed! Let's all go the pub, though they'll probably be out of beer by the end of the day

A few stations still sold out on the way to work this morning and still queues at the BP as you leave Brighton up the 23.

For me, this all goes to show just how close we are to complete economic and social breakdown. Just imagine if there really was "real" crisis with any one of our essential amenities.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the risk of it effecting businesses and the footy fixtures, I almost wish there was a proper fuel crisis and vehicles were forced off the road for non-essential journeys. Maybe then some kind of community spirit would kick in and we would all start trying to manage together rather than the current "me first and f*** the rest of you" philosophy.

On Thursday, Energy Secretary Ed Davey said people "just need to do the sensible thing... get a full tank of petrol, not a half-tank."

Went on to say fill jerry cans etc.

His wife knocked on my door and roped me into delivering leaflets for Ed Davey as he's the London Borough of Kingstons Representive... f*** that if i'm delivering anymore after those stupid moronic comments...

1) this whole fuel thing could be a distraction from the awful budget

2) could they be trying to turn over as much profit before the financial year end

Either way it is a proper balls up...

Can't see many motorcyclists being that happy with this.

I thought about that as I typed it but thought no one would bother picking me up on it, HILLIAN!

Total Garage in Burley in Wharfedale West Yorkshire had loads. Only had to queue for 5 mins (and only went because I was out of fuel). That said, some of the busier ones up here are rationing or are out!

Crazy Times.

I date it to August 31st 1997. That's when we were confirmed as retards although obviously there had been serious symptoms before that.

I remember that day well, I'd just bought myself a Sega Saturn but my parents wouldn't let me use it because there was some news story on the tele.
Damn you Sega for only providing a SCART lead, DAMN YOU!

Just been announced that there will be no strikes over Easter, to allow the union to "focus on talks".

So go and put the petrol back, you UTTER SPANNERS.

Sadly this demonstrates why we partake in wars in oil rich countries (whilst leaving other countries alone to slaughter their own people) as if we run out of petrol the system breaks.

The public paranioa would be funny if it wasn't so irritating. You only have to mention the possibility of snow these days for the mornons to start stripping the shelves of perishables down the local supermarket.
