"idiots"? You're the idiot if you truly believe there is any traction in wanting to emulate that particular former statelet. To be clear, communism has never worked, socialism has and does in several states. The issue is always one of both accountability and competence - Erik Honecker was never accountable because he was a dictator, and East Germany was a state-planned economy, which is communism, not socialism. I think you think you sound like a voice of reason. You don't, you sound blinkered and clueless.

And comparisons with Venezuela are also massively wide of the mark. Venezuela grapples with a recent history of military dictatorship and an appalling distribution of wealth that makes ours look like a communist utopia. Something needed to be done to address wealth equality and socialism does that. That said, I am not a fan of the power grab that has gone on in the last couple of weeks. Concentrating power in the hands on man is a very bad thing, regardless of political persuasion.

Talking of idiots -read my post again and then look at your first paragraph -you would seem to have totally misunderstood what I wrote. I was stating the exact opposite!

Worthing
A lot better than when under Wilson Callaghan Blair and all the others that f...d up the economy of this country. The only thing we are missing is another Maggie to make Britain Great again and crush the opposition more so than TM does. Although even she makes Corbyn look lost in question time

Indeed this country has been blessed with a Conservative led Government that has increased public debt as percentage of GDP and instigated the largest set of cuts to public services in generations.

A rare double.

Worthing
Then pedestrianise Portland Market and there may be more cohesion in the town centre

.

Casualty at Worthing hospital have been kept busy by the ‘precinct’ in Portland Road…. It’s mental.

Cant wait to sit back and watch Worthing fall apart under Labour.
Sounds like you should stand as a Tory candidate next time around, you have the same caring attitude as the current Tory government, you will go far.

Oh, you don’t realise that there is a difference between that shower of sh**e in Westminster under Boris and local Councillors.

Ok.

I'm fully aware of the difference between local and Westminster Tory's, one lot are looking after themselves at a national level and the others are looking out for themselves at a local level...... Its rather sad that you seem to want the ordinary people of Worthing to suffer from some sort of calamity in order to make yourself feel better for your loss. It might have been better to have the attitude that local Tories should have tried harder to improve local services and make things better for everyone and especially those who are disadvantaged in the borough ? Still, leopards and spot's eh ?

A little reminder of a post of mine elsewhere ( that I shamelessly stole) ... Did Boris Johnson ( and most Tory politicians ) enter in to politics in order to make the man in the street better off ? Or, did he enter politics to make himself better off ?
