There are a lot more vagrants here.

Never saw beggers a few years back. Last few months, more and more popping up on Montague Street.

How long have you lived there?
I can remember beggars being very common back in the early nineties.
Or are you talking about non-British beggars?

Absolutely not that argument was pure Tory spin, the world recession was a direct result of the lack of world wide banking regulation and the USA sub prime markets

As I discovered recently Brown almost single handedly mitigated against the worst impact of the global recession, quietly, without fuss, and without crowing about it.

The fact that half sensible people can say with a straight face that Blair and Brown caused the global recession is a testament to their mendacity. The fact that they also blame Blair and Brown for tory austerity is a testament to their stupidity.

Indeed - I remember them at least 15+ years back

Quite.

Barring a five year stint in Brighton I've lived in Worthing for the entirety of my 37 years and there's always been people on the street.

Sussex, by the sea
I think East Worthing/ Shoreham seat will turn red at next election, West Worthing might just hang on to Tories

Green is more likely. . . . IF Labour et all play ball

floaters won't vote red, and frankly the local offerings aren't great

The key thing is to see Laughton in the river.
Low tide on Christmas day would be best for all.

Over 15 years.

Seems a lot worse over past few months.

the past few months has been tough for anyone on little to no income so no surprise there

Worthing has always had a sizable homeless population like most seaside towns. I work with homeless people in Brighton, many of the people I know either spend time in Worthing or have done previously

begging is always going to be more prevalent in times of economic hardship
