Sid is a top bloke some people took him too seriously on here and take life too seriously for that matter.....
dont see him changing his way like you though fella

I am sure he will be a live wire untill he physically cant do it.
That or the bloody coke will give him a heart attack.
Needs to knock all that on the head, doing him no good.

A v Shrewsbury one year when we got followed to the pub (at opening time). There was only a handful of us and the landlady called the Police and let us out the back of the pub. Later on we saw the same mob throw a scaffolding pole at other Brighton fans arriving.

A v Plymouth - could not get across the car park to get back to the station as there friendly mob were waiting and we ended up with a lift back in a couple of Police vans (they got a bit annoyed when we asked them to drop us at another pub rather than the station as had a while until the next train back to London)

Millwall away when we won 1-0 (somebody already mentioned that - there first home defeat for about 2 years), walk back to the station was horrible.

Difficult call. There have been high score tonkings over many years: 8-0 at Northampton, 6-0 at Walsall and the recent 7-1 at Huddersfield which was actaully quite surreal amd emotionless. Then there have been many 1-0's where we have been dire, not turned up and were lucky to get 0. There have been wet ones, super wet ones and freezing cold ones. There has been inhuman treatment by the OB and stewards, and awful views of the pitch (the cage at the side at Northanpton). On the pitch, the first half at Walsall (0-3) a couple of years ago made was abysmal. The mass singing after the'Ashley Neal' game at Northampton -"shit team, no pride" was one of the worst communal emotions shared.
But the worst has to be the 5-0, not so much the hour and a half of the game, but the hour and a half afterwards when we were kept under police control irrespective of where you wanted to go. The anger and frustration at not knowing what was happening and then finding out at the end that nigh on 5000 people were being herded through an opening 5 feet wide was unbelievable and still raises my blood pressure today.

1984 or 1985 ish away to Watford FA Cup, when I observed the police start a fight with albion fans. The incident got plenty of coverage in Argus at the time. I have never been against the police and as a laydee never get involved in any violence which I abhor but was horrified at police actions I witnessed that day, and Albion lost. :flameboun
yep , loads of people bitten by the OB dogs before the game , then battling with OB down the front of the terrace as people tried to storm the pitch during the game .

Northampton away in FA Cup 1987/88. It was all ticket and we sold out our end. Being a lemon I left mine at home so went in the Northampton end. We won 2-1 and I was rumbled when we scored the winner and took a few blows. It then kicked off big time after the game.

That was a shit day out for me too. We met up with a Millwall mob at the station, it kicked off a bit, and I had my train ticket taken off of me. I caught a national express and finally got to the game pissed up and got a lift home from a very generous couple, who took me to my front door. Inbetween all that, I got a kcking before the game started, and got twatted by the OB for going on the pitch afterwards.

That Plymouth one is still one of my favourite Cardinal moments.

They did have a few that came across the pitch at the end.

We played them 3 times that season.

The away game was the August bank holiday Monday. They had gone up as champions.
They scored with about 2 minutes to go and then super Gerry Armstrong equalised. That seemed to set the scene for the rest of the season.

The cup match was after we had won at Brentford when Nelson scored that wonder goal.
They built a temporary stand of seats with like a tent covering over it.
We won 2-1 and they came across the pitch at the end but that was about it. We all got put on busses straight back to the station.

The home match was on a Friday night for some reason. I think we won 3 - 0.
They bought a big firm down for that and were running around a bit afterwards.

I don’t remember much exciting happening but I remember driving home along the A23 and there was a Reliant in pieces at Pyecombe. Turns out two of theirs were killed in it.

My personal worst away trip has to be Millwall 1986 ish. We won 1 - 0 . Mick Ferguson scored and it was the first time that they had been beaten at home in two seasons. They didn’t take it very well.
We were kept in for ages and then when we got to Forest Gate the train got bricked. We got out alive but I must admit I realised what the Dunkirk troops felt like when they made it back.

We went to Fulham that same season. We lost that one 1-0 but the game was so boring I remember a load of Brighton fans leaving early and playing football in the park outside,

The Millwall away match was in 85, the Fulham one was the season before.

Two stick in my mind- Watford in the cup in '84 and was crushed up against terrace. Police were disgrace and was close to being similar Scenario to hillsborough.

Second was Norwich away in full
Members cup 1989 where we lost 5-0!

I remember in the early 80s at Palace the OB took my shoes (not boots) away from me and it was raining. I had crisp packets on my feet in the Brighton end, I can`t remember the score because I couldn`t concentrate, my feet were very wet and very cold and my mates taking the piss.
