Tottenham in the old div 2 ,in the albion end behind the goal and spurs fans were pretending to be Brighton as a plan then they started on the albion fans .The funny thing was I saw this guy who went to my school who would not hurt a fly being dragged off by the police ,Lawrenson was brilliant that game. Another game was Pompey early 70s running battles on the terraces most of the game ,glad its not like that anymore !

Way out west
Was the usual away end a silly fenced in pen on the right hand side ?looking up the pitch from the stand behind the goal that we took over as it was a cup game ?

I was in the bit on the side, my abiding memory of the game was the wind, Bremner had a shot from way out that balooned up in the air and didn't get anywhere near the goal.

Can't remember that, but it was pretty chaotic in the town centre beforehand...at least for those who weren't put on buses at the station and taken away against their will until kick-off.

Remember it kicking off with palace at euston before the match, think west ham had a go too ! Arrived in northampton, put on buses and put in the ground. We had behind the goal and a caged bit to the right. Final whistle northampton got on the pitch and tried to get at us via the cricket pitch. Got outside more buses but a bit of trouble, old bill moved me away and wouldnt let me join my mates so was stuck in amongst some angry northamptob fans, ended up on my own trying to find way back to station, walked for miles, eventually found the station

sudbury, wasnt that the game where jimmy case fell aslepp on the bench, still pissed from the night before?

Yup, sounds about right. Stood at the bottom of the 'terrace'. At 5 foot 3 I was at a slight disadvantage. Saw the ball three or four times. Minton hit the bar.

Chesterfield in 2000/01. Day started off well as I saw the team on their pre-match walkabout, gave them a hoot. Really excited for the day. Then it went downhill...
Such a shit place and a horrible ground. Then to have Charlie sent off for nothing, couldn't believe it. We had such good support that day, on the terraces and the wooden seats.
Holding on for a good point until they scored in the last minute, I'll always remember that. . Walked out of the ground to see fighting all around me. Some bloke punching another guy who then said "Stop. I'm Brighton" then the other guy said "So am I" . Then there was more violence, and I got thrown over a wall.
Horrible day.
Didn't go to Palace (5-0) but that will be the general consensus.

Can still remember after the game walking back to the station and their boys coming out of the side street to be faced with a few hundred Albion............and about 4 coppers trying to keep us apart !!!

Grimsby away 1985 we won 4-2, the locals were not pleasant after the game.
It was an evening game, my starter motor had gone on the car and we had the runaround with the locals after the match.

I was there October 2000 with Mrs HB&B. Her brother lived in Tibshelf (blimeywhat a place) and we stayed in a hotel on Mansfield Road, Nottingham run by an old cricketer. Kuipers was in goal a few days after carrying the ball over the line against Hartlepool. It did kick off outside a bit.

Seem to remember stopping off in Wolverton on route for a few beers pre match Think we were messing about with water pistols on tha day
Buses direct to the ground from the station I remember that as it was a long journey
Madness in the park after the game Brighton fighting Brighton
Police dog dragging down a guy feet away from me as we charged across the park
utter chaos

Yes it should be But that ITV Digital game where Brentford put 4 past us was the only time ive left before the final whistle

Me too. Followed the Albion for 40 years and that is still the only game I have left early. Mind you , would probably have left the 5-0 early if I could have got out !.

had a few dodgy ones over the years, but mine is f***ing oldham of all places,78/79 april time, got caught by there mob in a mini bus, thankfully it was a panelled one, kicked the f*** out of it,tried rocking it over and some hairy **** was trying his hardest to prise the passenger door open, where i was sitting

anyway my uncle who was driving, decided to go for it,some muppet tried to stop us,but we caught him with the left hand side of the van, spinning round like a whirling dervish he was,a solitary copper trying to get through the mob just shrugged his shoulders,as if to say,get the f*** out of here

funny thing is around 12 years later, started seeing a bird from oldham of all places(well middleton, for those who know greater manchester) and when i went up there i couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people, never bought a drink all weekend

Wasn't that the game where the Oldham fans called for handball which blatanatly wasn't and we then spent the rest of the game shouting handball whenever they kicked the ball? Went up on the charter train to that one (at least I think it was that year).

Bit like the Farcial Palarse penaltys game then
Where we were shouting penalty each time they got in our half
