I think it would be a good call. He obviously has bags of natural talent and he is an unknown quantity. He has pace, finesse and can finish the ball. Many decent players make it into the world cup squads with little experience.

There is always some inexperienced young player who bursts onto the scene during a world cup or Euros. In the past it has been Owen and Rooney - why not this time Theo Wallcot

Agree. If the forwards are crocked we need to build from the midfield and Lennon has been outstanding IMO. Carrick is also worth a look.

Aaron Lennon deserves a place in the side as he has been superb for Tottenham in the past few months. Taking Walcott would be a big risk, but theres no doubt he is a very decent player.

I see your point, but both of those two had plenty of premiership experience before they were called up

Ronaldo was taken to USA '94 and he was only 17 with no real experience of top flight football. He didn't play, but he would have been a useful squad player.

Surely it's madness to take a player who hasn't played since January, has only a handful of competitive games under his belt, and has never played in the top flight?

There are so many strikers who should be ahead of him.
