Thats not a bad shout at all actually. Although is there a "natural divide" between L2N and L2S clubs at the moment in terms of numbers ?

True, but it will be mainly aimed to cut cost for the extremes

Plymouth/Exeter/Torquay/gillingham etc travelling to Carlise/oldham/Preston/Hartlepool etc.

It's by no ways perfect but I think it's better than the system at the moment

It's not the thing to say at the moment, but we have some very good young players in this country - but we destroy them with so many games.

League cup would go as well in this shake up

Our players are on the beach in June at every tournament, they might actually be up for it now mid season.

Should play our u18's in protest. Might not qualify - which is fine - but if we do, they get a great experience and no UEFA champions league sanctions.

Got a feeling that the Middle East may not look like it does now in 2022.............can't see this tournament happening whenever they schedule it for .

There would still need to be a winter break to allow the non English players to be able to play in the tournament

Why? Not if they've got lucrative contracts which specify no release for a mid-season break. Money talks louder than playing for your country these days for most players, I reckon, and agents certainly aren't going to get them to turn down huge contracts,

They have to be released for internationals including friendlies. The rules aren't going to change for a World Cup.

Welcome to the first world cup where games are 6 periods rather then 2 halves with TV ad breaks (drinks breaks) after every 15 minutes. All games played at walking pace due to the heat. Most games are played in near empty stadia due to the strict rules laid down by religious leaders means that many fans refuse to travel.

Meanwhile back in England many teams have to play their U18 sides in league games as TV rights mean no suspension of the season.

So who's going to enforce the rules? The utterly discredited FIFA? The very organisation that has proved that money talks louder than anything!

Wow, they might kick us out of the World Cup.............

Actually L2 is hugely Southern dominated. If A regional L2 was cut from the bottom 38 sides in the current league plus the top 2 from the conference, L think that the north would start at Stevenage! So Cambridge would be in the north and you'd put Cheltenham and Forest Green just in the south.

The fact that the big nations don't gang up and quit FIFA to create an elite competition epitomises the state of the world today. Politics and diplomacy dictate that when a system is up and running it becomes bomb proof, and folk will put up with any amount of corruption and madness just to maintain the system. I see it at work, we see it in the NHS, and in the European Union (or whatever it is called today), and elsewhere. The desert farce will go ahead and it will be a farce.

Boycott it and hold a world cup Subbuteo tournament instead.

On the plus side, some of Man City's and Chelsea's 200 players out on loan may actually get a chance to play for their parent club for a change.
