f*** off you wanker.
so because i say i know people that aren't supporting England next year, i'm a United fan?
Yeah good logic.
Prick.

The logic is from your post you dunce. The implication in your original post was that most people you spoke to couldn't give a fig about England because they had been shit for 43 years and because of that they weren't going to support them. Makes them glory hunters rather than football fans and most glory hunters support the likes of Chelsea and Manure. A logical conclusion based on your post.

As for England being shit for 43 years, yes we haven't won anything but that doesn't make you shit. 1986 we lost to the winners, 1990 we lost to the winners, 2002 we lost to the winners.

So then, do you concur with your circle of friends/aquaintances or will you be supporting England come what may. If the latter then good for you.

Seriously, can you give some examples of his arrogance ?Out of many premiership players he comes across as very grounded and personable, you really do sound like an aging hollywood star whose best years are behind her with your bitter anti chelsea rants, a bit like spurs really.

Hmm...Spurs and Chelski as Paul Newman and Lindsey Lohan? Could have some traction.

Other than slagging off West Ham and it's fans, I've always thought this little story summed him up (I accept it is only a story that has been in circulation but...)

"England training camp, February 2006 and the squad are sitting down for their lunch. Fat Frank Lampard plops down and eyes Joey Barton as he enters the canteen, Barton of course had only weeks before offered his eloquent and, let’s face it highly accurate, assessment on the decision of Steven Gerrard and Lampard to release their autobiographies just after a poor World Cup (Barton: “I went to the World Cup, I played shit, here’s my book”)

Lampard’s tournament being summed up as ‘shit’ could even be considered light criticism compared to some of the reports that came out following England’s exit to Portugal. Looking like a little boy lost the whole way through, he shot wildly at goal 24 times in five games and missed every one of those. Not a deflection in sight to save grace; how he missed the Premiership.

Anyway, back to the canteen where Barton tried to head over to Frank to make some peace and perhaps discuss it like grown adults. But as he sat near Frank, the Chelsea man (it is rumoured) moved a few more seats down. Then Barton again tried to sit near the sulking git, but once again Lampard moved, at which point Barton told him (allegedly) to calm down as “I’m not going to steal your food you fat prick”. "

Oh well , thats it then, ive never seen such incontrovertible evidence , and i cant believe how nasty he is about west ham fans given the lovely reception they always give him, this is a PITIFULLY, weak response , borne out of jealousy more than any hard evidence.

Do me a f***ing favour :dunce:

Oh dear. Never ever thought I'd get a good feeling about Mr. Barton!

Sounds like bollox but made me smile.

Any Englishman calling himself a football fan should be supporting England, no excuses!

That said, a friend of mine from Hove would support anyone against the Albion, any cricket team against Sussex, any country against England. I always wondered about his choice if it were Mars against the Earth in nuclear war? Thankfully apart from that he was a nice bloke!

None of whom will start except possibly Heskey (who gives something different and should be in the quad in my op)

Totally agree with your first sentence. I have to say that your friend sounds a bit, well, 'contrary'. I won't be rude seeing as he's your mate but people like that really piss me off - mind you I suppose that's why they do it. They always remind me of that Gilbert and Sullivan song from The Mikado where the singer is compiling a list of people he hates:

"The idiot who praises in enthusiastic tone,
Every century but this and every country but his own."

("I've got a little list and they'll none of them be missed!")

Seem to speak to a lot of people these days that are that f***ed off with how shit England have been for the past 43 years, they've just given up on supporting the national team.
Just wondering if i was imagining it or not..

Albion have been shit for years, but i will always support them.. England,i will always support in the small hope that we may win a major competition again.
Anyway, im English....who,the hell else, should i support

Brilliant. One made up story. Well done.

To be fair if I was Lampard I don't think I'd want to sit next to that thuggish **** either.

So even if the story is true, it leads absolutely NO credence to your "arrogant twat with zero class" allegation.

Lampard has always come across as a good bloke, IMO.

I'll support England, I'll look forward to watching the games, but will I be upset if they lose....no, not at all.

Agreed. He just sounds like another normal, if overpaid footballer. Nothing to be held against him IMO.
