the council, lease runs out in 2013 IIRC

At least it isn't owned by a cunt like Archer-desperate to sell it from under you. All the while the council own the place you're in with a shout.

(sorry for use of the 'c' word but it's the only one appropriate for that cunt-oops!)

we've tried to get national media attention but it's failed miserably. we've had plenty of local coverage but a huge number of our fans come from outside the county - i'm from oxford myself - so the general level of awareness is poor. even a few days ago, some of us who were protesting after the game copped abuse from other "fans" because we're responsible for "destroying the club".
been there done that. when we were busy flypostering kirkby lonsdale and ridsdales gates, then getting arrested for walking down the elland road within a few metres of him the rest of the fans called us scumbags and told us to quit bothering the man who was bringing a dream to life. yeah right.

do you not have a swindon fan on the sky sports news cast? i am pretty sure there is. one of the reasons we were able to get our flowers in the summer, shoes off if you hate bates etc. etc. in the press in the summer was because of the leeds supporting newsreader there and chris moyles and since they were doing their bit the rest took the story as well.

keep plugging away though. dont give up without a fight.

have the fl said anything on your situation?

do you have a supporter's trust at all?

i'm on the board of ours, would be good if we could get some communication going and organise stuff if neccesary.

there's a fair chance we could be gone by the start of next week, if reports that we're trading whilst insolvent is true.

How's your local paper supporting you? Is it fighting your corner? Does the town as a whole REALLY not care, or is it just that there's no person or persons leading the fight and forcing people to focus on the plight of the club? Sounds like the latter to me. I know it's not an easy thing to do, but surely the supporters trust could take the lead. And if you don't know where on earth to start, or how to go about mobiliing people, I'm sure there will be plenty of advice and encouragement available on this board. Through necessity, we know more about it than just about any other club.

Good luck

Get the game against us abandoned by a massive pitch invasion...we would understand.

erm-if any police officers are reading this-I'm kidding.

There should be a Fans United day on Dec 15th. Even if it only involves both sets of fans. If there any protest sheets to be given out , it will only need a few to hand them out at the away turnstiles. Yorkies' idea of a red card protest is brill. To make other fans around the country aware of what is happening it needs communicating to supporters message boards , perhaps via the clubs in crisis website perhaps.

Fran Hagarty posts on the Clubs in Crisis website so I'm sure she'll pick up on this.

Build a bonfire chant could be re-jigged to suit Swindon fans requirements.

Good idea, can we have the relevent names, then if Sonicyouth could get them printed out, hand them out at the game, we'll shown em how to sing it when the arsehole appears in the directors box. :bounce:

Or, how about a "Wear Red for the Robins Day".

Sonicyouth mentioned the arsehole in question is called Diamandis.

Up for that. The protest at Wrexham a while back was great. No reason why we can't do something similar again.
