Will there be a Swindon Town left to play?

This news is so sad and so shite. Terrible, terrible news. A very good mate of mine is a Reading STH (has been for 25 years) and he will be there. I asked why and he said because he hates Swindon. REALLY hates Swindon. He doesn't want his bete noir going under. It would be like losing a close friend.

I can empathise with that.

In a pile of football shirts
Sonic, you're gonna have to get your people in whatever pubs away fnas go in,make sure the cards have the details about your plight printed on them and sih them out to Brighton fans, you'll find the vast majority of us on your side on this.

Also, going back to previous suggestion, wear Red for the Robins, red shirts, red hats, and how about loads of red balloons, originating from the Brighton stand, again, at kick off, maximise the impact for the cameras. And with them coming from the away end would provide a good and powerful message to the current people rying to wreck your club.

Make sure you tell the press, the papers, the radio. Hawsey will probably have a chat wih his colleagues in the commentary box.

Swindon, but used to be Manila
any idea where in swindon you pissheads will end up? i should be able to round up a few people depending if i can drag them out of the pub. of course, my job will be made significantly easier if we can sort things out in a place with beer :D

an organised march from the magic roundabout to the director's entrance before kick-off, followed by a few choruses of 'sack the board' with town and albion fans alike would be a pretty neat idea as well. the v.i.p. guests love it.

i doubt the club would let us hand anything out near the ground and security have been rather heavy-handed in recent weeks.

I might have got it wrong BUT I thought you were happy with the board but it was the OWNERs you were not happy with?
Thats how I understand it from guys at work.

Little: 'Inland Revenue may run out of patience'
Comment | Read Comments (3)

JIM Little has warned Town fans the Inland Revenue could "run out of patience" at any time as he admits to a sense of deja-vu over the latest takeover bid.

The former Swindon chairman-designate is watching events in Wiltshire from afar with interest, but admits he is not surprised another another suitor has been hit by problems.

Andrew Fitton's consortium have revealed there is now still hope a deal can be sorted, after emergency talks yesterday afternoon, but Little believes the clock is ticking.

The American spearheaded a failed takeover by Portuguese consortium BEST Holdings a few months ago and insisted the creditors were even running out of patience back then.

With the tax man owed around £2million, it is thought application for a winding up order is not far away unless changes are made and quickly.

He said: "Even when we were in talks the Inland Revenue were knocking on the door and saying there was not a lot of time left.

"We are now a few months down the line and they have still not been paid. This can not continue and eventually it won't.

"Hopefully there is some good news because the fans deserve that but who is to say what will happen.

"I have to admit the last few months have been unbelievable."

Little's attempted bid broke down due to alleged "late amendments" to the deal and Fitton revealed on Thursday he had encountered similar problems.

With his bid back in the pipeline though, after the Wills family try to reach a compromise, Little believes it is now or never.

He said: "It was almost like deja-vu hearing what Andrew Fitton said.

"The club has to realise Swindon Town is not worth a lot of money.

"For me they have been fortunate having three parties interested in buying them and they have to take advantage of that, whatever the terms.

"I don't see any alternative but liquidation if this deal does not go through."

Little revealed his consortium were still on the market for investing in a football club but admitted he had huge sympathy for Town's BEST Holding's trio.

Franklin Anzite and Mauro Almeida are still stuck in Town's reserves having been brought in by BEST while Spaniard Ibon Arrieta has earned a trial at a club in Spain.

Little said: "A footballer wants to play football not sit in the stands.

"I don't understand why they are not playing at Swindon because they are top players.

"But I suppose it is Swindon's problem. If they want to pay a player and not play them then that is down to them."

Thats how I understand it from guys at work.

none of the board members have any real control over the club. everything is ran by general manager, shareholder and adviser to the wills family mike diamandis. until this time last year he was more or less completely in the dark, never gave interviews, only a tiny minority of fans even knew who he was, let alone the amoubnt of control he had over the club.

the main shareholders are sir seton wills and his son james, diamandis is their adviser.

the board of directors are made up of:

willie carson - nothing but a figurehead, never attends games and has absolutely no input, control or even interest in events at the club.

james wills - majority shareholder, arsenal fan.

bob holt - former maxwell aide, long-term employee of dunwoody sports marketing - diamandis' marketing company.

sandy gray - the only 'accountant' who doesn't understand VAT, long-term employee of dunwoody sports marketing.

martyn starnes - former accounting manager at yeovil town, joined earlier this year and is acting chief executive. no previous links to diamandis but has no significant control over the running of the club.

the board are for all intents and purposes puppets controlled by diamandis. he runs the show and is wholly responsible for everything at this football club.

i've got loads of info on him and history of events at the club over the last six years since his consortium took over but sadly they're on my PC which is dead.
