Will there be a Swindon Town left to play?

cheers for the kind words all.

there doesn't appear to be much we can do, the man who holds the cards has complete and utter disregard for the fans and i sincerely doubt he'll be at all bothered by people turning up on his doorstep with baseball bats - the **** would probably like it.

it would be nice if come the brighton game both sets of fans could unite but frankly, if i was in your shoes i'd shrug and get on with my own business. your club has problems, who needs ours?

we've tried to get national media attention but it's failed miserably. we've had plenty of local coverage but a huge number of our fans come from outside the county - i'm from oxford myself - so the general level of awareness is poor. even a few days ago, some of us who were protesting after the game copped abuse from other "fans" because we're responsible for "destroying the club".

Swindon, which are supposed to be well-run, are in trouble.
not sure what gave you that idea! we've been run like a pub team for at least five years now.

only last summer we got £1m for lukas jutkiewicz when he went to everton, nobody knows where this money has gone. much the same for other transfer fees over the past few years.

the most recent accounts are from 2004.

our problems don't stem from our relegation from the premiership but constant mismanagement since the incumbent board took control of the club from danny donegan and terry brady.

I think you may be pleasantly suprised by how much backing you'll get if what is going on gets well publicised before the match. We know what it's like so there's not many Albion fans who won't be sympathetic and remember the massive support we got from other clubs in our darkest days.

A Fans United day? Probably a bit short notice maybe

Allo mank ;)

You'd be suprised, we had a fans united day where fans from all over the country from other teams came down the goldstone with one message and one voice.

Its one thing Albion are proud of, and I for one would be well up for a fans united day in Swindon. Roll Call? :D

Bournemouth are on the verge of going into administration.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bournemouth/7131374.stm

Leeds have had 15 points deducted. Luton have lost 10 points. Bournemouth are about to lose 10 points. Swindon could follow. What's going on? I fail to see how a club with a recent history like Albion's is relatively secure financially, but clubs like Luton, Bournemouth and Swindon, which are supposed to be well-run, are in trouble.

Our debts are huge at 11 million, only the fact we have falmer has saved us:drink:
you have to wonder about a lot of these clubs in trouble as i recall they all splashed out a few pennies to much and had large squads. Not the fans thought of course, seems there is many of dodgy chairmans about.:O

On December 15th, Swindon Town will get complete solidarity from the fans of the Albion. We remember the support that we have received during the last decade. We will be more than happy to return the compliment. We have done so with the likes of Wrexham and Doncaster.

Hi..

The situation does look absolutely desparate for Swindon at the present time. A winding up order from the taxman is potentially very close and as the man with the fab former badge says there are people within the club's management structure who it seems will let Swindon die unless they get their wedge of filthy lucre having "failed to complete" different take over offers.

I know relations between the fans aren't the best after the playoffs but as/when protests are planned I would go on bended knee for any help Albion fans can offer. It's way beyond the stage where the actual match is important, if you know what I mean (as long as the fixture is fulfilled)

I try not to bore people with my affiliations usually but as far as I am concerned is crisis time, no mistake.

I think we had even less notice for the Wrexham demonstration.

I take it you'll be working as usual on the day. I'm sure no-one listening will object to a touch of passion creeping into your commentary. I shall be at Swindon, travelling down with the regular coach trip that is organised for this fixture by the Swindon fan at the Gardeners Arms in Lewes. We'll be fully briefed. I'm sure.

How about you sort out some appropriate song sheets, songs aimed against your current chairman. Dish them out to the Albion fans at the gate, then perhaps we could all join in with your protest.

Just a thought, but we should be able to do something.

do you have a supporter's trust at all?

i'm on the board of ours, would be good if we could get some communication going and organise stuff if neccesary.

there's a fair chance we could be gone by the start of next week, if reports that we're trading whilst insolvent is true.

Nope.

And I would speculate that the reason our campaign against Stanley, Archer and Bellotti back in the 1990s ultimately saved the Club was that it wasn't bogged down by structures and leaders with positions to protect.

Don't get me wrong ... I fully back the Supporters Trust movement. We probably ought to have a Supporters Trust as we move into the future. But it may not be what will save STFC now.

That's what we did at Wrexham. It was printed on red A4 paper which we all held up at precisely 15:10. A 'red card' protest.
