Will McGhee drop Kuipers now?

Every time McGhee has had a chance to see Kuipers play (in a professional league fixture) I believe he has conceeded three goals.

Okay Roberts is currently injured. But does this mean The dutch marine has lost his first team place? I felt he possibly could have done better on afew of the goals. I would have felt better with a fit Roberts but I guess thats just tough.

Can you see Kuipers sailing off (boom boom) and using the transfer money on bringing in anew player?

Eitherway, I think Kuipers has kissed goodbye his chance of keeping the number one spot.

Must say I agree. It's sad for him because he seems a decent guy, has done very well for us in the past and says he wants to stay. However, I thought he looked nervous today - didn't do much wrong but seemed to be lacking in confidence. He doesn't command his area as well as Roberts and the defence appear less confident with him in goal. It could be because he's been out for a while, but I still feel happier with Roberts in goal now the dribbling is history!

he only could have helped the second goal maybe, the others were because of poor defending. his kicking seemed ok, just the 1 wayward kick i think.

I think he looked as solid as any Division One keeper, and you can't blame him for any of the goals.
Only the people that don't like him will... :p

Do people dislike him? I don't, I simply prefer Roberts!

He has been out of the starting line up for 9 months for f*** sake of course he's not going to have the same understanding with the back 4 as roberts has!

I was under the impression he was some sort of cult hero.

He is to some - rightly so in some respects as he has done very well for us in the past. However, there are those who hold him in such esteem that they will not accept that Roberts is as good as or better. He is onto a loser whatever he does in comparison with Kuipers in his fans' eyes!

Kuipers kicking which was the one thing he was slated before was 10x as good as Roberts today, he managed to keep it on the pitch all but once.

Exactly what I said above. Gross exaggeration by someone who obviously favours Kuipers! He can do no wrong in some peoples' eyes!

I prefer Roberts and I believe that more importantly he instills more confidence in the back four than Kuipers who I believe is a more than capable reserve.

For Kuipers' record I guess alot of those games and goals came when we were struggling in Div 1 last time? If so, put Roberts in that situation and I suspect his numbers would change significantly-especially if 13 or 14 og those games were during MH's brief spell in charge.

Just a thought.

It's also difficult todo a comparison between two players when one has played three times as many games as the other one. The guy with the lesser number of games will always look better.

I don't think Kuipers did a lot wrong today. He was horribly exposed for goal one and three, while goal two was well taken and while on ome days he might have saved it I think it was too well hit.

His kicking was a lot better today - certainly no worse than the Reading keeper who also managed to find touch a number of times

I felt that in his prime, Kuipers would have saved the 2nd and 3rd goal. I wasn't to impressed with him. Although it would be unfair to criticise. I can't see him staying as Number 1 though.

Kuipers is bound to be lacking in confidence and a bit 'rusty' he hasn't a proper competitve game for 9 months, our defence from what I've heard did not help.
