Will McGhee drop Kuipers now?

Wasn't commanding today.

My initial impression on their second goal was that he might have got a hand on it on top form - though havng seen the replay, still can;t make up my mind whether that's harsh.

Surprised to see him beaten from so far out on the third. Forster was on a charge for a long time, so couldn't he have got a bit further out to him? Must have been a hell of a strike to beat a keeper that easily on the near post side.

Roberts makes the odd mistake because he's so adventurous, but Michel was a bit cautious today I thought.

totally agree!!!!!

anyways, i think that michel wasnt at fault for most of the goals yesterday as a lot of the blame can be put on the defence. michel is a confidence player, we've seen that before with him. give him a couple of matches to blow the cobwebs out and get used to the defence again, and we'll see him be as good as he has been.

Kuipers was crap today, I never feel confident with him in goal. 2 of the goals should have been saved. Dont get me wrong, they were both down to bad defending but the fact still remains he should have saved them. We need Roberts back quickly.

In my pub I once commented to MA that Kuipers had made a couple of good saves in the previous days match. His answer was " Thats what he is paid for and if he didn't he wouldn't be playing." Fair comment

they were getting a lot of crosses in yesterday, and michel left his line only twice i think. with roberts in goal, they would've been colected time after time. michel doesn't command the defence like roberts does, as we saw for the first goal when it was a calamity of errors. he needs time to settle back down, but i don't think hes as good as he used to be

The first goal was a point-blank shot, similar to Robinson's in the second half. Unstoppable. The second was a well-placed finish from the edge of the box and through a crowd of players. Doubt Kuipers would have seen it until very late. The third was a good finish from Forster. If anyone, blame Currie for giving the ball away firstly, and Harding for botching his clearance.

I would always pick Roberts over Kuipers because I think he is a better goalkeeper, just. However, Michel is a more than able replacement and I think we're slightly spoilt to have two such good 'keepers.

Last time in this division, I thought Michel kept us in a lot of games. He's clearly short of matches and hasn't played much with the current back 4.

Whilst this time last year I thought he should be first choice, however, I do now think that Roberts is our clear no.1.

As Safeway says, I think we are extremely lucky to have two of the best keepers in the division. We will probably be needing them both to be on top of their form when called upon.

Good analysis of the goals. I did blame Currie for giving the ball away.

The man hasnt played a first team game for nine months. give him a chance, you cant seriously expect him to be 'on top form' in his first game back.
He won us as more points between 2000-2003 than any other player, with the possible exception of bobby.

Having said that ive been in tokyo for the past ten months so i have no idea who is nowthe better keeper. I got faith in both of them.

Incidentally, the double save that kuipers made away to wolves was the best ive ever seen live...

The arguments not about wether the fans want him in goal but if the gaffar does.

Look at the stats from McGhee's POV. Played 2 conceded 6. (The last time he played under McGhee being against Lincoln in the FA cup where he also let in 3).

fair enough.
im sure mcghee, will give kuipers the benefit of the doubt(if there is any doubt) as its his first game back in nine months. If 8-10 games down the line kuipers is still unconfident, uncommanding etc then he probably will find himself as the no. 2. I just think its too soon for either mcghee or the fans to discard a player who has been such a prominent part of the teams successes. He obviously has pedigree so he will be given (limited) time to prove that he still has it. If he can't prove it, then...

He'll be given the time it takes for Roberts to get fit.

He'll play against Plymouth in the first relegation six pointer. If he don't show what he can do their then the big marine may not get another chance.
