This is the worse German team in years according to a German colleague, so it’s our best chance in years.

I understand that completely but I was about 14 when we won the World Cup, now that was fecking THRILLING!

The years after that were also great to watch too but since Euro 96 I really have struggled with watching England at tournaments
One Teddy Maybank thinks just like you, feck the quality just give me the win. I think that there are quite a few others on here who feel the same, we are all different

I feel more like that for Brighton than England Icy, because I actually don't care that much about the national team.

Brighton factually.....
In true English style we will beat Germany in a passionate positive display and get humiliated by plucky Sweden.

It’s the English way

I think we can do it.

It’s gonna be another 1-0. Feel it in my bones.

(But if it goes to pens against the Germans I’m bricking it)

I think we can beat Germany.
It dawned on me whilst watching Portugal vs Germany that we would actually do quite well against Germany.
Portugal played with four at the back who were far to narrow and gave both Germanys wing backs far too much space which led to the goals.
Hungary realised this and played with 5 across the back and the Germans really struggled.
We have been dull to watch but I actually think we could be Germany's nemesis at this tournament.
I'm going for 1-1 at full time but we score in extra time and win 2-1.

I think it's slightly in Germany's favour: when was the last time we scored four goals against a team like Portugal? But equally, we've got a chance.

We've tended to start games well and usually up our game against the better teams. But I don't feel very confident about it.

I've never cared less about England than I do now. Years of disappointment have taken their toll, the shame of boorish hooliganism over the years have too, and now finally Brexit and being led by the worst Prime Minister we've ever had - both of which make me feel embarrassed to be English.

I have never felt less pride in my country than I do now (or maybe I've never felt less English), to the point that I barely give a monkeys about what happens with the national team. As such, it would be typical if we actually win now that I'm not that bothered.

Agree, gave up on this country a while ago - no intention of coming back if I can help it
