I think we will, although I don't think it will be very easy on the eye.

I'd love to see Ben White in a back three, Bellingham and Saka as Wingbacks with Sancho, Foden and Grealish starting too. Never gonna happen tho.

Still in Brighton
Don't understand why some have a melt down about this fixture against a team of ****z. Can't wait, perfect, love to play the Germans. So in knockout rounds we've lost to "the first decent team we meet", often by penalties. Pens are a lottery anyway, it hurts but that's how it is, no shame in that.
We're strong enough to beat them, hopre it's a good game, bring it on. No anguish here.

I'm fully expecting we won't so anything else will be a nice surprise.

That's what following Brighton does to you.

That would presumably mean one of Grealish and Foden playing in a midfield 2 and Bellingham in an unfamiliar role. You're right that it's never gonna happen.

Very little between England and the Germans. Need to make home advantage count.

Question of the day is surely will there be more discarded PPE face masks or England car flags littering the land on Wednesday morning ?

I actually think we might. Rafa Honigstein in the Athletic is very down on Germany atm - says they’re a mess.

We meanwhile look like an old fashioned Germany team - dull and efficient. The question is whether we can go up the gears or not attacking wise.

We also appear to be conserving energy after being totally punched out by the semi against Croatia in 2018 - remember that Kane chance right by the post? He looked absolutely shattered.

Southgate has a clear plan. Whether it will work or not is another question.

If it was in Munich I’d say they’d edge it. As it’s at Wembley, I think we might just squeak it.

Karma for England's ultra-soft passage through the last World Cup. Can't see them going anywhere near troubling the judges in this tournament

Yes we'll win because there's plenty of insignificant 'little' teams left for us to lose too.
Ha! Ain't that the truth. It'll be a performance for the ages against Germany, everyone will go nuts - and then we'll lose 2-0 to Ukraine.

I fancy us for this - Germany needed a goalkeeper howler and a deflected goal to draw with Hungary - Hungary! Germany are a shadow of their former selves
