I think my main worry is our squad is better now than it has been for some while....... however some of the football on display is absolute shite.

We have some very good players, but seem to have no idea how to get the best out of them. Forster so far is living on long balls and knock downs, this is not the best way to get quality from him as he needs the ball to feet.

The fact that Wilkins appears to not have noticed this is a worry for me !!

Also it appears he seems to over-complicate matters with his constant tinkering and team changes..... jake had a great game against Millwall, then was dropped...... he made a valuable contribution when he came on at the weekend and promply gets moaned about by Wilkins in the Argus.

In my opinion Wilkins is turning into MM

well. That's one definition. Another is :the repetitious or unnecessary use of words that do not provide new information

Guess which one I was referring to

got to be honest i think he has done ok

but the only youngsters that are actually playing at the mo are

elphick
cox
and when he can get on jakey wh has played over 100 games

the squad is far more experienced than it was a year ago

im a bit puzzled by some of the selections

like why martot gets the nod over jake at gilingham when surely after the millwall game with the position gillingham found them selves in we should have just gone for them.instead he start with martot cos of the amount of crosses he puts in? dont think i have seen him put 1 in against gills or yeovil.
whats wrong with sam rents, comes on against southend puts 2 or 3 dcent balls in that help change the game and now he is behind el abd? ok he can look suspect occasionally defensively but generally looks ok to me and what he gives use with his delivery going forward think he deserves a run.lost count of the amount of times last season we scored due to his delivery.Funny thing is we are apparently short of a left back and yet yeovil had a perfectly decent left back who we use to play further up field, every other club he has been at he has played left back but very rarely did for us.ok martot didnt exactly worry or challange him and although jake did when jakey is in that form think we would do that to any full back at this level.

Also is it me or does coxy seem to come to life when hismate comes on? has ben crap most of the season except millwalll and then on sat when jake was on?

but that said deano did change the game against southend with 3 quality substitutions ok you can say he was lucky but you make your own luck.

there is no doubt the squad should be challanging for the top half of the table which if we are going to need to be picking points up away for a start

They key from here is how Wilkins can turn it around from here, he has to avoid any more runs like the ones we had last season.
have to agree with ub here last season the main reason we finished so low was the inability to turn around a defeat, you cant afford to lose 5 on the trot to many time in a season

us and car wash where would you be happy with us finishing this season?

I agree on both points

I expect us to be around 17th this season with Wilkins in charge which is in truth a shocking waste of a lot of talent

someone like Adams with the squad at his disposal would get them to about 5th or 6th

The squad has improved in certain areas, so he takes credit for that. We really need to start picking points up away from home, or we could be looking behind our shoulders before to long.

but does he deserve credit if we are not winning games, 5 defeats in 8 games this season so far with this so called improved squad.

I don't think Adams would send out a team with such a lame attitude. They would be too scared to face him if they hadn't put the effort in.

Sadly Wilkins is turning back into the 'Wendy' we all knew as a player, very good footballer if allowed to play but not up for a fight.

I think the very fact that he took the job on, refutes your verdict straight away.

Taking the team he was left with, and trying to build something out of it on virtually no money, would shiver the timbers of the Mourinhos Wengers and Fergusons of this world. I bet that most football managers wouldn't even take it on!
It might be a case of 'fools rush in where angels fear to tread' actually, in which case he'd be commended for making a decent fist of it.

What was it....2nd best away record in the division last season....??
Atmosphere-less Withdean wasn't such a success of course, but you certainly don't get the away statistic for free!
