Wilkins has now had 46 league games in ccharge of BHAFC. Is his record acceptable or not ?. It is an open debate and I have no particular axe to grind, I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and have posted positive comments from time to time, the point is he has now had a full season with 46 games in charge and that is a fact.

Played 46
Won 15
Drawn 9
Lost 22
For 53
Against 59
Points 54

From this we would be around 19th in a full season just above the relegation zone so if his remit was to keep us up and thats it, he has acheived that , just, but can he take us up to the next level or is this his limit, I think he cannot but would be delighted if he proved me wrong, there have been some good points this season but the facts are we have lost 5 in 8 games, crowds are plummiting and he has gone AWOL every game.

Whats the verdict ?.

No he hasn't, he's had the equivalent of a season but not one full season.

Oh look. Another Wilkins thread. How boring is this forum becoming.

Wilkins isn't going anywhere. Accept it. Move on.

An experience manager is McGhee failed, why would a inexperience manager like Wilkins do any better. No manager could improve our position at the moment. The club is skint, and until falmer is within moving distance, the club will continute to move along slowly as we are at the moment. If Wilkins is still in charge and has money to spend, and a new ground to play in, these numberous threads may be worth reading and posting, if we are still a mid table 3rd tier side. Until then accept it that Brighton cannot move forward, and any manager will struggle.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
He is 7 games into his first full season in charge of the team and the preseason training. He has made some decent signings and we are close to being a decent League One outfit. It is going to take sometime to settle with the new additions and we were unlucky not to gain anything from Crewe and maybe Gillingham (penalties?), no?

Yes, lets sack him now. :shootself:

You may be right, but how long can you expect people to pay out £23+ to watch it? The club's official line is they want promotion, but if they say that but never really look like getting anywhere near achieving it people will obviously become disillusioned.

Oh and for what it's worth, I think we have the players to be beating sides like Gillingham and Yeovil. :(

Lets hope we have a few Bobby Zamora threads again soon, to dilute all these Wilkins threads.

I saw Bobby in a pub in Buxted last Sunday. He had expensive clothes on but was rather aloof to all and sundry. All was ok about it but Sundry was really quite upset.

I think it is do with the fact that the guy, in his opninion, is not competent to manage the club. I do not think it is personal.

thats correct, why is it so hard for some people to understand this, also I did not put any slant on the thread just wanted people's opinions, other people have read this as a anti Wilkins agenda

But all of these threads seem to come from the perspective that Wilkins isn't very good at doing his job. This in itself is not so bad but the sheer volume of them suggest you have an agenda against Wilkins for some reason.

the squad has definently improved, so he can take a lot of credit for that. however, bar millwall the performances have not - that is the worrying thing

I have as stated on another thread accepted that this is a lost season, a nothing season, I do not think we will go up or down and thats the way the board want it, its too soon to be playing in the championship again as far as they are concerned, Wilkins is here to keep us up, that will do, 20th will do, if we looked like going down he would be sacked but I think he will keep us up as we have a decent squad and a good manager would be able to get us to the play offs or promotion with these players
