The atmosphere at Withdean does not have to be shit, even though it is probably the worst ground in the football league in terms of helping the supporters to create some noise. We have a valid excuse there. However, here are the elements which overcome that issue:

- Dodgy ref, especially an early sending off (either side, but better if AWAY team)
- Decent attacking football from early in the game (the atmosphere for the last 10 mins on Tuesday night was actually really good because we scored a goal, and then played some really good attacking football. If the team could adopt that approach early on, it may create some atmosphere)
- A decent crowd - I don't care what price the tickets are for the rest of the season (despite having paid £450+ for my ST) - just get the fans in. Kids for a quid; free tickets for local schools (especially in the less well off areas of Brighton); special offers for families; dirt cheap mini-season ticket for last 6 games, etc, etc.

Perhaps they have a right to have a go at the ones who don't attend, but keep sniping at those that do will soon drive them off if their results and form doesn't first.
Take away those whingers and the old couples with rugs and flasks and I doubt Mr Forsters wages could be paid. But hey he won't care, he just gets another club, but the flasks and rug brigade as you call them will probably still be there.

I disagree, because in the main Forster was right. This season our support has been very poor. Not just in terms of numbers but in vocal support at home games, negative comments on the phone-in, not too mention the utter binfest that NSC has been this season.

And hey if you want to dish out the criticism you better be big enough to take it. As captain Forster is the right man to make the comments, and I feel he has put in enough good performances on the pitch himself to maybe ask the crowd to do their part too.

The constant criticism of Knight, Wilkins and the players this season has really soured my view of our support. I think we are doing ok this year. We will stay up comfortably and possibly take an unlikely pop at the playoffs. We have STARTED the long rebuilding process that the team needs, and we finally gained permission for Falmer.

Granted this may not make for the most riveting entertainment, but surely that isn't what you support a football team for, this isn't the cinema or a gig. We are a club in transition in every department both on an off the pitch, so I am making the most of some very good company and few awayday laughs whilst we get on with this.

And if it all gets too depressing then I can warm myself in glow of recent memories such as Cullips goal against Chesterfield, Zamora ripping Reading to shreds and the playoff final.

I'm looking forward to the game today, it will be tough but a win could prove all important in the direction of the rest of the season.

You know what? I might even support the team in trying to do this.

This is now a Withdean issue as it is tiresome, embarrassing, run down and basically a non-footballing arena where it is impossible to raise any type of atmosphere.

I normally arrive just in time for KO as I dislike my ears being assaulted by 80s punk music every week, seeing girls prancing around out of time or a

stupid bloke dressed as a bird.
Basically you can't polish a turd and the gates will not increase as Withdean is the problem.

Beach Hut, never, ever say that about Seagull again!!

At half-time last Tuesday after witnessing the farce that was the first-half, Seagull provided us with huge enjoyment whilst doing his thing with, was it Gary Hart?

Sir Seagull! !

Never again, Hut!

Quite so.
