You mean lumping into the stands???

Have you seen many of our games this season? WHo the f*** is he supposed to pass it to? The middfield are woefull and the defense do not have the time to pass the ball.

No problem sir. Hammond has been an absolute disgrace all season, bar the first handful of games. It was not so long ago he was on the verge of being released - in the same bracket as David Lee. Carpenter is way past his best, and would struggle in League 1 let alone where he is currently being asked to play. How neither of them have been dropped this season can only be described as gross mis-management. IMO, they are consistently the two worst players in our team, the vital weak link, yet their places are assured. Time to get rid in both cases.

Like Carpenter, Butters has been a good player for us, and has played a part in past successes. However, his lack of pace is embarassing, so bearing in mind we have McShane, Hinsh, El Abd, and Lynch to choose from, he really shouldn't have a guaranteed place either. Every team in this league has quick, pacy strikers, so you just cant expect him to cope any more.

I'm not being overly negative, bar those three we have a young and talented team. We need experienced players to surround the youngsters, but that doesn't mean they have to be over the hill players.

Agreed although Hammond has been put under a llot of pressure by being pared with crap players in the area of the field responsible for the entire outcome of the game. Put him with a top midfielder from this league like Koumas and you will probably notice an improvement

Carpenter is clearly one of McGhee's favourites, he's been piss poor for ages, yet still he's never subbed, let alone dropped.

Butters has been steady though - the only reason i could see for dropping him is the emergence of Hinsh, El Abd and McShane - but even then i'm not sure if that's good enough, he'd need to have a few bad performances first

I havent missed a home game and have been to a fair few away. All he needs to do is push the ball out wide and if he is going to insist on hoofing it he could at least do it constructively

I would argue that McShane is making him look better than he is but we are all entitled to our opinions

I argued the exact opposite earlier in the season, and found myself getting flamed by the man himself (well, it might have been 'Race').

McShane is absolutely Quality, i can't remember him having a bad game. He wins everything in the air, on the deck and has great control and vision.

Last year Butters won everything in the air , was good on the deck and solid all round. However, with the younger, fitter and ultimately better McShane alongside ,him, he has far less to do, and therefore doesn't dominate at the back as much as last season

i see your point there and with Butters not getting any younger do you think it might be a good idea for Hinsh or El Abd to take up Guys role and inject some more pace into our backline? - the experience can come from good old Doddsy

McShane can be a hot head and react. Butters calms him down so that he doesn't get as many yellows, akthough he did get quite a few.
Butters is talking to the back four all the time.

I don't agree. I have seen him in the reserves a few times and don't think he would make any difference.

I would like to see Richard Carpenter OUT the team. At least then I may be able to draw some sort of positive from the season.

Up until his injury at Palace he was a good influence in midfield but since then he has struggled.
I can only presume that MM is using his (Chippy's) experience.

Very harsh. He's off form but was good earlier before his injury.

Hmmm i remember complaining about how Oatway was carrying him earlier in the season, i used to think he was one of our better players but he is now past his use by date

I don't think it is to be honest. He has been awful in recent months, and it is sad to see because he has been a quality player for us in the past.

As for Nicolas I don't think the reserves is the be all and end all, maybe he could work harder to impress but he never seems to get a chance or be able to hold down a place no matter what he does? I am sure he will be on his way when his contract runs out in the summer, which is a shame I think.
