Probably because of the reaction of most of the fans if he'd missed. Hasn't missed one yet but the fans are too ready to slag him off. Bennett has missed the last two he's taken and won't get 1/10th of the abuse Barnes would have got.

Sandanza was appealing to the bench to let him take it and then spat his dummy out when the response was obviously - " Sort it out amongst yourselves ". I saw all that , but....

Choice of penalty taker should be sorted out on the training pitch....not by squabbling schoolboys in the playground.

The captain should decide who will take the penalty. Thats the rule the teams I played for used to use and it seemed to work well. It looks far more professional than 5 blokes squabbling and throwing hissy fits.
