I see where you are coming from however if you have players like Reid on the bench he can play in 3 positions well you should have enough with four subs to be able to change the game?

If you have a bench of Robinson, Reid, Revell and Butters that pretty much has everything you need.

You are right about 99 out of 100 times not needing a keeper but sods law is such that when it happens its a key game.
Perhaps in a key game you revert back to playing with a backup keeper?

The Virgin Mary looks a decent prospect. Agile with a good reach!

Did Adams get the same sort of treatment, displayed on here, when he did not select a reserve keeper?

I have checked a large amount of games during the 99/00, 00/01 & 01/02 seasons and we very rarely had a sub-keeper on the bench.

Is it a different set of 'rules' for Wilkins? ???

I must admit, it's a bit disconcerting not having a sub goalie (I draw the line way before we get to 'it's utter madness'), but I can also see Wilkins' reasoning.

The point about Reid being able to fill in any of three roles, and Jakey or Revell being able to fill in a couple etc are correct and valid, but the sort of thing McGhee used to get slated for - a lot of people on here were screaming when he was 'playing players out of position' when the reality always was, and still is, that the players need to be flexible and adaptable. Albeit Bas in goal does stretch that point a bit.

Oh, and Matt Richards is very far from being a waste of money, and for me, a much better player than Rents at present, despite the former's wobbly start for us.

To me the difference is Wilkins wouldnt be doing it for a whole season just the odd game, Which ended in upsetting players,

And you are spot on about Richards.

As I remember Adams did get a hell of a lot of stick from the fans for a few reasons. Not sure not picking a sub keeper was one of them.

We are wasting money on loan signings like Richards when I consider that we have a home grown left back who is as good if not better - Sam Rents. Just my opinion. Who is making the fuss on this thread? Accusing others of posting rubbish when it is just an opinion?

I don't think hes a waste of money, look at our results before he came here and then the games since. We have become hard to beat after a patchy out of form start to the season.

Is that entirely down to Richards or could O'Callaghan have made a contribution?
That was just an example.

Again I feel sorry for John Sullivan. He wasn't even given a chance in the first round we played in the JPT. How is he supposed to get experience?
Richard Martin was released and is now on a year's contract at Man City.
