Sometimes things are just shit and that’s okay, recognising such doesn’t make anyone Hitler.
Has anyone on here actually said that ?

I deliberately posted the views of The Observer to try and subtly show that criticism of the current government is not just a far right agenda.

I personally certainly don’t read the Daily Mail, support the far right or any of that stuff, yet I’m concerned about the economy and key decisions made so far.

It’s just so so easy to dismiss everyone who disagrees with us as being critically different to the most extreme conclusion.

I.e:

In theory as an admirer of New Labour, this should be the government for me. It’s just really not working out the way I’d hoped. Maybe they’re doing brilliant stuff behind the scenes investing fortunes into the NHS, for instance, that we won’t feel the benefit of for a while - if so their communication is dire because even in the liberal press there are really no victories to celebrate.

I remember when Corbyn failed miserably, the very same people who defend Labour to the hilt because they’re Labour were doing exactly the same thing. Bury head in sand, blame the press, blame the electorate, everyone is brainwashed, everyone is secretly far right, everyone reads the Daily Mail, everyone is a gammon.

Sometimes things are just shit and that’s okay, recognising such doesn’t make anyone Hitler.

so Right! 😉

I was being facetious.

No, not specifically Hitler, but far right ala Tommy Robinson and Elon Musk, which is essentially the same thing insofar as trying to have a rational debate on the internet goes.

“Everyone who disagrees with me is the worst possible thing they could be politically, with no nuance or balance to their argument”.

People on here have said if you don’t agree with labour you’re far right or a Tommy Robinson fan ?

There is a perception - or narrative if you will - that everyone who isn’t happy with the government has been somehow brainwashed by Elon Musk and “the far right cabal” and therefore must be a Reform voter, Daily Mail reader and a gammon.

Rather than, say, a large number of people from all walks of life and all political persuasions who simply don’t like the decisions the government have made since they won power.

The far right are carrying out an offensive, with a lot of money and exposure behind it, but that isn’t having a bearing on mine and many other’s views, especially when they have a hatred of the far right themselves.

I don't think it's brainwashed as much as naively taken in by what they see on various media.

How many people on here, who are now saying that they want another investigation into child abuse had posted anything similar prior Musk's early morning tweet on his account a few days ago ???

I really can't recall a single post on NSC questioning the TOR, findings or recommendations of the last inquiry, only the fact it hasn't been acted upon, but Musk tweets and off we go again

You might disagree with it but I think Rachel Reeves is sticking to the government plan. I get the impression Liz Truss acted with Kwasi Kwarteng and a handful of advisers.

There is always the possibility of a reshuffle but Starmer gives the impression of someone who sticks to a plan, hence I imagine Rachel Reeves will keep her job.

hang on we’ve got to post on every single topic before it’s discussed in msm so we can avoid being labelled we are purely responding to the Media …..ok I’m going to start a thread about the last game of the season, to get ahead of events

I'm just suggesting that as a nation, maybe we shouldn't jump every time Elon Musk tweets something trying to get us to jump.

Just a suggestion

Best of luck with you tory electioneering campaign.
You'll need it.
Why would I want to campaign for a party I've not voted for in the last five general elections?

I have no affinity with farmers either.

My point was, applying IHT to farmers, even at a reduced rate, was never going to plug the hole.

Why have you wrongly deduced I'm a Tory voter?

Yet many of us can’t stand Musk or Trump or their rhetoric, but still see issues in the government. Most of which Musk et al aren’t discussing.

This is what some are finding hard to fathom, and so many - not just on here - are so politically narrow-minded and take a position of “if you disagree, you’re my enemy and I’ll discount you and lump you in with a fictional cabal of people who are maliciously disagreeing with me, because of the far right”.

It’s an emotional take with no basis in reality as reflected in the polls.

Yeah I get your point …I’m not on X (not that it matters re Musk you can hear him everywhere)…but it’s gets rather tiresome being labelled with for example “far right” (it’s lazy) just because of certain views which I find when talking to people from all walks of life are actually quite common and nothing like those once pinned to organisations like the EDL or BNP

I doubt it will fill the entire hole, but everything helps, but above all it is only fair..and I believe in fairness.

Slightly OT but related - I was at a Palace game at the Amex in a different seat to usual. The bloke next to me says something and I reply about us not playing well, and the bloke in the row leans in to his mate says “I think this bloke behind us is Palace”. Ended up nipping out sharpish when I was getting daggers from these two huge blokes.

I should mention I was wearing my Albion shirt and bobble hat at the time.
