Watchin the boats go by
Only really started playing recently. Used to be able to bowl pretty well when I was younger so if I can get a few net sessions in i'll have a go sometime.

In my second game this season, about 5th game ever, I scored 104no out of my teams 167/9 after 50. Not got many since then mind!

Well, thanks for that.

To those who have never bothered to take part, I can see why it may appear boring, I'm sure lots of things appear boring to lots of people, for instance, I find people posting posts like yours incredible boring.

Incidentally, are you always so dismissive of things you haven't actually tried?

Why do you respond to boring post like mine?

I'm a wicketkeeper-batsman. Without wanting to sound like an arrogant tit, my highest score was 185, in a Sunday friendly game against Pulborough for East Preston. Suffice to say I haven't matched it since and don't anticipate doing so.... Have been playing cricket for about 15 years (now 26) and have managed to notch 12 or 13 centuries in all. No league hundreds yet though.

Best bowling was 4-21, although that was when I was about 12 and I've bowled like an absolute spastic ever since, hence taking on the wicket-keeping gloves.

Well...when i was 12 i had trials for Sussex Southern Sabres under 15's because of the lack of team they had at that time.I obviously didn't get in the team.

I got in the Argus 4 or 5 times due to my bowling even though i was a all rounder at the time, i think some of my best spells in include:

8 Overs - 4 Maidens - 10 Runs - 2 Wickets .
4 overs - 2 Maidens - 4 runs - 2 Wickets.
I once got 4 wickets in a 4 over spell but can remember exact figures.

I gave up Cricket and football so i could watch Sussex / Spurs on a reguarly basis.

I'm more of a bowler, although I would say I'm a fairly confident batsmen. I've had some pretty good figures in the last couple of weeks:
2 overs-0 maidens-4 runs-2 wickets
4 overs-0 maidens-19 runs-3 wickets

I SO wish I could actually bat. I've three 50's to show for my 27 years of playing, and frankly they've all been SLOGGED.

I've taken five wickets a good 50 or so times, but for me a TON is the holy grail. I'd swap any number of MICHELLES for just one century. Given that I batted once in my 4 matches last year for 0 n/o, it doesn't look like happening soon.

Played to a reasonable standard at school and for a West Indian team called Trinibis in Tottenham in the mid 80s.

I was a decent quick bowler at 15 but had lost my edge by the age of 17; don't know why, it wasn't for lack of effort.

I'm very pleased with how little bulldogs cricket is coming along in his first full season, He plays for steyning u16's in a midweek limited over league

I know it's not everybody's game but I've got to congratulate little bulldog and all the lads from steyning u16 squad who have just completed the league and cup double as well as remaing unbeaten all season. Well done boys your teamwork and togetherness is something to be admired.:clap:

Me, Snoobs and SeagullRic played for St Matthias U16 in that game, and with only 5 regulars and 3 U14s I thought we did well defending 90 odd. No-one thought we had a chance until Sean took the two caught and bowleds in the same over and I felt from there we were unlucky to lose the game. With 9 to win off 3 overs we had to protect the singles just as much as the boundaries and hoped we would take the last 2 wickets, and I genuinely thought Sean (the spinner) would have done so if he had been able to bowl the 19th over.

Great game though,

Great game though,

You lads ( and girl )were an absolute credit to the game and gave steyning one hell of a task to achieve, I genuinly hope you all go on to achieve things next season because you deserve it.
