It's a rare thing seeing an experienced world class player in a 2nd division.

The way Vicente effortlessly glided past defenders and made impossible through balls was a joy to behold.

AK is tremendous and king of this division, but Vicente was another level.

that....Vicente was pure class....Knocky is very good exceptional almost but Vicente just had that certain something........couple of players that came close , wardy , gerry ryan , mike robinson.

Voted Knockaert. How can Vicente be winning when he played 2 games?

He played about 30 times (mostly subs but I believe still more than Knockaert). Vicente is winning because the question was: "Who is the silkiest player to wear the stripes" and irrespective of how many games he played.

Greater contribution? Knockaert. Silkiest? Vicente.

Vicente was doing what Knocky's doing now in the championship except it was against teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid! The gulf in quality and opposition is large.

As an aside always had a soft spot for Jeff, how was he supposed to soar like an eagle etc, etc?

Ah the Smithy overlap of yore... into Mundee, neat one two and pull back for Minton to play a beautiful ball to Mcdougald to apply the finish.

At least that was how it was meant to work.

Now Jeff had some great close control. He just lacked pace and errmmm some other key attributes.... BUT in all seriousness; with better coaching and some breaks he could have been a £10 million player in today's game.

Yep that's right, £10 million.

Vicente was never world class playing for us. He was a crocked version of his old self. He Had a lovely touch but did find himself having to beat the same player twice, whereas AK from a standing position can suddenly glide past 2/3 players all in one movement. At his best, Vicente was obviously the silkiest, but he was never at his best for us. AK has shown enough silk for me to get my vote. Everything he does just oozes class.
