Eric Cantona used to live next door to me for about 2 years. He used to take me to play football on the fields with his son, go-karting, on bike rides and to the occasional football game. Thats my claim to fame! Shows how life has changed because there isn't a chance if ronaldo (modern day equivilent) lived next door he'd be able to walk down the street and play footy with a few kids! All round really nice guy, sent us Easter eggs when he moved away and iv got a letter from him too! Not bad.

I was in the front row of the flag waving urchins and the Queen came over and spoke to me, as did Prince Philip (who moaned about kids waving falgs in his face). Royals didn't impress me as an 8 year old and don;t as a 45 year old. But meets the famous criteria.

1995 West Indies cricket team (which included Richie Richardson, Carl Hooper, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Brian Lara, Jimmy Adams, S Chanderpaul) and Viv Richards when they came to my workplace the day after the got beaten by an innings by Sussex (the first by a county team for nearly 30 years). Won an official set of all the autographs of the tour players and officials in a staff raffle.
