Because cricket is only played by certain commonwelath nations, most of the people who settled here as immigrants dont follow the game at all.

It's as simple as that.
Agreed, you can tell that from the players names for instance, such anglo saxon names as Katich,Hilfenhaus,Hauritz, langer and krejza just trip off the tongue :lolol: and all have recently played for the australian test team, stop making an arse of yourself with such a ridiculous statement.

From my experience, the immigrants from nations of the balkans don't like anyone much.

Croats are some of the most arrogant people i've met.

And they hate blacks and asians big time.

You have a point there.I know a couple of Bulgarians who have commented on the amount of black and Asian people in the uk which you wouldn't see in Bulgaria.Again this is the view from just two people but they were very strong and blatantly racist about it.
I personally believe the UK is one of the most tolerant countries in the world.Look at Saudi for instance.Churches have been banned from being built. We all know about suspected gay people being hanged in Iran and a Afgan man faced the death penalty for converting to christianity. This maybe not classed as racism though.

All of mainly German/Dutch ancestry.

Of which most Germans landed in South Australia in the mid 1800's.

So they have been here for a long, long time.

Now notice the lack of Italian, Greek, Vietnamese, Croat, Serb, Chinese, Lebanese names in that list?

All the newer immigrant groups,

I do.

And you won't find them either because these large immigrant communities don't follow cricket.

You will however find alot of the euro names in the Socceroos squads.

The Asians here have almost zero interest in the sport.

Once again though, your minimal knowledge of Australian history in regard to immigrants is leading you to the wrong conslusions.

Krejza and Katich are of Balkan descent. As is Mark Phillpoussis and lot of professional footballers.

I personally believe the UK is one of the most tolerant countries in the world.

Canada is probably the least racist nation in the world.

But after that Australia, the UK and the USA are all high up in the tolerance stakes for nations in the world scheme.

How can they not be considered that when they are the 3 most multicultural nations in the world.

All offer the opportunity for an immigrant to arrive with nothing in their pocket and in turn become millionaires.

That could only happen if the laws of the land allowed them the freedom to do so and protected them from those who would see they fail.

Quite frankly you're all taking a load of boll0x:lol: The Chinese invented racism over 2000 years ago,and still regard themselves as superior to all other races. If I remember correctly, their word meaning non-chinese is barbarian

Right, so if I went up to the average man in the street and said, "What does the word COON mean to you?" they would come back with stuff about Racoons and slave huts? Really?

No they would come back with Racoons and Blacks. But then you moved the goal posts, its the words understood in context. Asking what words mean asks for definitions not context.

Israel is the Jewish national state. The Jews regard themselves as God's chosen people. I would have thought it doesn't get more "racist" than that!

Lets look at the facts rather than stupid generalisations. It is also a Jewish State with 20% of its population being non-Jewish and enjoying more rights than they would anywhere else in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia actively persecutes non-Muslims and Jordan has a law forbidding Jews from living there . Yet Israel is automatically racist simpy because it is the Jewish homeland?

Let's not forget that in Malaysia, only the native Malays get free education & free government services. The Chinese & Indian Malaysians get treated rather shabbily in comparison. Wouldn't be allowed in Europe

Not that I am saying that ALL Australians are racist but they are no better than anybody else either, like a lot of nations, they are reluctant to be honest about their position.

Being Australian and having worked all over the world (now in Worthing), I'd say there are racists everywhere. On of the girls who works for me (English lass) declared last year she wouldn't use the same toilet as the Indian consultants we had working with us for a while as they were dirty...So my point is that it is everywhere.

My grandfather found it difficult to address Asians respectfully but then again they did try and kill him and take his country.

It wont be long before someone from abroad who has CHOSEN to come and live here or some tosser wracked with colonial guilt comes along to tell you that's exactly what the english did for years.

Here we go again..."Chosen People" means chosen as God's messengers not the "Master Race". Still, let's not let a bit of theology get in the way of a good binfest...

p.s. how does genocide rate on the racism monitor?
