A one off 3m payment would probably keep him here. May not go down well with the rest of the squad though.
Payable if he's still with us come 1st. July 2024 would be fine, I would say. Maybe something like that has already been arranged? - give us a year son, and the world's your oyster............

I’m assuming that our valuation exceeds £100m. ???

If he stays, this could be the best "signing" of the summer as he would have been so difficult to replace. Please be true as I think my Brighton Mojo level would be off the scale.
Please, Please be true.
I will be more chuffed and excited if this happens than any other business we’ve done this window, and we do seem to have done excellent business. Cherry on the cake if this happens

I was at a networking event for work today and my albion tattoo got noticed by a Chelsea “fan” (henceforth referred to as scrote) who proceeded to barrage me about MC.
After trying and miserably failing to shake him off politely, I finally gave in and explained that TB and PBOBE have a figure which may or may not be £100m. I suggested it could be £200m for all we know.

Scrote started to explain to me how negotiations work.
Something along the lines of “You want £100m, we offer £60, you come down to £90, we offer £70m and both agree at £80m”.

Scrote just couldn’t comprehend that, whilst there may or may not be a value at which we would sell, the club do not really want to.

More babbling about imprisoning MC and we only paid £4m for him etc. I explained that my father purchased his house for £25k in 1985 and it was now worth circa £850k so should I expect him to sell it to me for closer to £25K because that’s what he paid for it at the time? I resisted wasting my breath in appreciation and inflation.

Astonishingly one sided view and the complete inability to see the other side staggers me.

Thankfully I was saved by some people who actually wanted to talk to me sensibly (and could possibly see the vein in my temple glowing purple).

These people amaze me. What on earth does he hope to achieve by harassing you? Did you explain that you weren't PBOBE?

The twitter lot are on a whole new level. But people you think who are normal thinking people can supprise you.

I was in my local second hand record shop in January with my Brighton bobble hat on (it was cold). the chap who owns the shop is a really good guy, but he comes up to me and apologises explaining that he is an Arsenal fan and how they are about to take MC from us. I said "don't worry, if we don't want to let him go then we won't" to which point he started to explain how that was not possible and that they would definitely be signing hiim.

I went back in to the shop after the transfer window closed and gave him a little (smug) smile.

This just in……….

Simon Stone, BBC Sport

“Brighton expect Moises Caicedo will still be at the club when the transfer window closes on 1 September.

Brighton are adamant they do not want to sell Caicedo and have no need to following Alexis Mac Allister’s exit for Liverpool.

The player has been made aware of the situation and Brighton do not believe it will be an issue.”
Came on to read the reaction to this and hardly anything … I know it doesn’t definitely mean he’s staying but it’s very good potential news no…?

I had certainly resigned myself that he was off but I’d sort of pretty much joined the negotiating team to try and get to 90m with 5m add ons.
Don’t know how to feel now especially if we are going to have to go through all this again soon. But like people say it’s another season out of the boy and he has till now been pretty special

Obviously the 1st of August key asset transfer shutter slammed down.
