With the sale of Sanchez ...My personal preference is we break the mould and up Caciedos wages to an all time record fee and have bonuses if we win a cup or get top 4?

Be gutted to see Caciedo go for £125 million
That makes no sense when he signed a new contract in March, presumably for more money. Whe have no need to break the mould, especially for a 21 year old with a handful of appearances. Yes, he has been phenomenal and will be nigh on impossible to replace directly if he goes, but no reason to undo everything TB and PBOBE have worked so hard to build for one player.
Bonus for cups, fine. They can be agreed outside of a contract. A contract is only a guarantee of what will be paid. No rules about paying above/outside that if clubs win something unforeseen.

A one off 3m payment would probably keep him here. May not go down well with the rest of the squad though.
I think the rest of the squad would live with that tbh. He’s a special player.

Wouldn't go down well with the football authorities either, unless it was a signing on bonus as part of a new contract. All payments to players including bonuses, loyalty payments etc need to be defined in their contract. Any other payment (or anything that could be considered an incentive bonus) isn't allowed.

What about a new contract, with a signing on bonus?

Would the whinging on here about ticket prices, Albion + membership prices, beer prices etc etc stop as well ? If you are going to up the budget in this way then you have to up the revenue. There is no magic money tree..or are people expecting Tony to pay (again)…..
Well, if we've learned anything in the last few years, there is a magic money tree. The public (or in this case fans) purse.

Romano's 'updates' on Moises really are about as inane as it gets.
It's not about a relationship, we have a relationship with them, we've just sold another player to them. It's about them meeting our asking price.
It's absolute crap and Romano fighting to keep the Caicedo story front and centre for the clicks. Sanchez becomes the 10th person to move between the clubs in the last 12 months. The relationship between the two clubs is fine, they both understand this is football and how it works, neither club will cut off its nose to spite its face just because we can't agree over the price of Moises.

It's pretty much the same with every player though when it comes to these attention-seeking agent-botherers.

Weeks and weeks and weeks of updates about a 'deal' – even if nothing of note has actually happened. If it doesn't happen, there's not a word said about it ever again. But if/when it DOES happens, there's a subtle 'told you so'. Yes, mate, but you also, during the course of the whole palava, told us where he grew up, what his favourite food is and what colour his pants were. Let us know when he's actually SINGED but, until then, do us all a favour and naff off and STFU!
