Has anything changed? Nothing has been agreed, just seems to be Chelsea briefing that they'd like to get a deal done by the weekend. It's really simple. Just pay up

Does claim progress in talks but nothing there to back it up. I wonder if they’ll find it easier to buy him if they actually make another bid at some point, rather than keep banging on about how keen they are to get it done.

Think we're fast Approaching the "if you don't pony up £100m+ within the next week...fk off" type date now, surely.

3 weeks till the window shuts, Parent clubs of potential Moises replacements will try and fleece us knowing we're £100m+ richer which again will put us into more time negotiating.

I'd of told them to fk off already personally, they're happy spending £80-100m in £20m increments on unproven Brazilian youngsters, why not just put to the Caicedo deal? As someone pointed out, for such a "big target" they've hardly put out all the stops.

I'd argue Arsenal did more to get him in January.
Exactly. They are so confused and unfocused in their transfer dealings. If they’d have started off at £80m they’d probBly have their man by now. The fact that they are spending £20m on lower priority players suggests that they don’t really want Caicedo. Arsenal on the other hand have gone large on 3 key targets and got them.
I know where my money is in terms of Champions League places.

It's a right pisstake they keep spending £15-20m on Unproven youngsters, just put the extra £ to the Caicedo deal and end this farce?

trying to mess us about.

Waiting for Chelsea to bid a £100m, and for TB and PB to say ‘no’, we never said it was a £100m…… everyone else did.
If that happens Twitter is going to explode. And I’m here for it.

Steinberg is possibly the worst of the lot at fuelling the flames but saying absolutely nothing.

Plenty of ‘media say’ pictures up. Any sign of him ? Don’t think there is - given the ‘injury’ he’s basically on strike isn’t he ?

Chelsea must realise by now its pay our price or don't get him, surely? In which case it seems totally pointless stringing it out til deadline day, they'll end up paying the same that they would pay now, to have him for less time and with more stress.

The logical conclusion then is they can't afford our price and are trying ways to get us to buckle.

I had two thoughts seeing this post.

1) What date was this tweet, it seems to not be any different to anything posted over the last two months.

2) What does 'closing in on a deal' even mean? Unless they're on the phone with Brighton going "81m? 82m? 83m? 84m? I can keep going as long as it takes! 85m? 86m? 87m?..." how are they closing in on a deal? Have they even followed up their last bid yet, we've not been inundated with reports of a new bid. So what exactly are they doing to be "closing in on a deal"?

So now Brighton are left without a key player, with no funds coming in, a manager in frustration and a dressing room in confusion.

The word on the street is that Kudus isn't signing because Brighton won't include a transfer release clause. I knew the Caicedo stance would come back to bite Tony Bloom, just didn't realise karma would act so swiftly. Time to let Moises go for the £80m-£90m. Keeping him has no benefit to the club from this point forward.
Do you have anything of interest to contribute to this board ? At the moment you are just coming across as a tit.

'Understood', 'unclear', all the usual vague guesswork from Hammers fan Steinberg that hedges his bets in case nothing at all develops. As usual, nobody knows anything. Thank God I'm no longer involved in writing transfer stories.

They need to find another person to have enough fingers to get past 80.
Reports are vague as to how they're planning to count the remaining 99,999,920.

Todd's trying to make a point, he's trying to get the British Media to change their opinion of him in regards to him being a bumbling idiot who knows nothing about football

Think he's smart but he's never been at the table with TB / PB

Essentially, on what planet is Caicedo worth less than Rice or Fernandez? £100m+ is the going rate for a WC central midfielder. And is in fact a bargain given MCs age

May simply have been asked to stay away for a while, as happened last time.
Let’s face it though, whether it’s Caicedo’s will or the clubs, he isn’t staying away for any positive reasons is he? Players that are happy, involved and working to get ready for the season are turning up to training. Either way he might as well be on strike, the end result is the same: an unwilling and unavailable Caicedo.

Pretty much all of this ^ is nonsense. Lol.

Why is this fool tolerated ???

The reported price tag is £100million+ I think Naylor said.

I don't actually think Chelsea will pay it before Tony's "No Sale at all" deadline - which must be VERY imminent now.
I totally appreciate what you're saying but I'm looking at this objectively. If this player is as good as Brighton fans say he is (I've heard some say he's a generational talent) then it will be nigh impossible to keep hold of him unless you're paying wages and winning trophies in line with the richest, most successful clubs.

It's not the way we want football to operate, but it's simply systematic of our capitalist society. I'm sure Independente Delle Valle fans didn't want to lose Moises Caicedo either.

Anyway, whether Moises stays with Brighton or leaves for pastures new I wish you well. Enjoy your away days in Europe this season. I'm sure you'll be an excellent side with or without him.

He did ok after the last window…….just need to let the club manage it
