Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't both Dunk and RDZ said in interviews that Caicedo has been affected by the Chelsea interest? So we know that much, at least. But otherwise we don't have any clue about the player's mindset.

And correct me even further, but I can't see any way in which Kudus is a Caicedo replacement or that his arrival or non-arrival affects a potential Caicedo move. He appears to be a completely different type of player and we can easily afford the transfer fee whether we sell MC or not. Any doubt would appear to be whether we want a player who is so evidently reluctant to sign for us.

Christ your back. We have signed many payers and will continue to do so. Caicedo is our player contracted for 5 years if we lose a couple of weeks but he plays the rest of the season then happy days. His suggestion was an £80m with a loan back for the season which I actually found quite intriguing.

I said, personally, I’d let him go to Liverpool for £80m just to piss off chelsea which is why I don’t run a PL club.

But the idea of a lower transfer fee with a loan back option is interesting. I presume Chelsea haven’t offered this as they desperately need him for the coming season.

3 weeks till the window shuts, Parent clubs of potential Moises replacements will try and fleece us knowing we're £100m+ richer which again will put us into more time negotiating.

I'd of told them to fk off already personally, they're happy spending £80-100m in £20m increments on unproven Brazilian youngsters, why not just put to the Caicedo deal? As someone pointed out, for such a "big target" they've hardly put out all the stops.
