Newmarket.
I thought he looked like he had spent time over the festive season either hitting the gym or hitting the pie shop and I couldn't work out which.
He definitely looked a bit chunkier to me.
He should try hitting the practice ground and hitting the target instead.
Penalties? Maybe in a month's time.

Must admit, I was absolutely CACKING it when Propper stepped up.

In open play, that bloke couldn't hit the side of a ferry if he was standing on the dock.

Felt more confident about him than Trossard, whose penalty summed up his general play in recent months

The most curious thing..
We have always been terrible with penalties. Even under Poyet, we were so inept he couldn't watch.

And yet...we've won 9 of the last 10 penalty shootouts.

And to my knowledge Poyet turned his back on ONE penalty, at Withdean, probably down to a bit of showmanship on his part. And we were a long way from being "inept" under Poyet, particularly at Withdean.

As I pointed out above, Murray converted 77% of his and Hemed 85% of his. And that was from quite a large number of penalties too.

Before that Knight and Zamora were excellent from the spot and as already mentioned, we’ve also got a great penalty shoot out record. Including in a play off semi and then the winning goal being a penalty in the final.

So I’d say we actually have a pretty good history with penalties.

This.

Hemed was particularly good.

Personally, I was less confident when Graham Cross was taking them in 76, prior to Brian Horton and Wardy stepping in.

What about David Lopez? Don't recall him ever missing one.

Agreed. I don’t think we had missed a Premier League penalty until Maupay did last season. Murray/Gross scored some very important ones which does highlight how Maupay needs to up his game. Sides at our level in the Prem cannot afford to miss penalties.

How about the sensible actual answer of "when Gross is not on the pitch and he is".

FFS this is just negative sensationalist look at me bullshit.

OK - calm down dear. It was / is a discussion about football - the purpose of the board.

I know you hate being on here so I struggle as to why you stay but I do have an image of you stomping around your flat ( no garden obviously ! ) looking like the angry Mr Potato Head out of Toy Story ..... you're always so angry !

Interesting, I'd pick Propper 2nd after Gross for a penalty. You have plenty of time to take a penalty, I get the impression Propper likes time to calculate where his shots are going, he doesn't like to be rushed, then gets it spot on.

Next Maupay pen will be against Brentford in the 5th round.

he'll sky it.

Agreed - Propper I was pretty confident about - his issues usually stem from situations where he doesn't have time and space. A penalty is perfect for someone as calm and technically gifted as our Davy.

It is unbelievable how rapid the decline of Neal Maupay has been, After a good debut season and some decent form after the lockdown break and even a reasonable start this season, whatever led up to the 'training ground bust up' appears to have removed all confidence from him.

Given Potter is meant to be a great man manager and specialise in dealing with 'conflict' - then the way some of our previously star players are declining is very alarming.

Fundamentally, I agree.

However, if Neal Maupay wishes to continue his career as a Premier League striker, it should not be down to someone else to sort him out or pick him up. He is in one of the most privileged (though admittedly high pressure) situations of professional life in this country. If he can't see that his body language, clearly indicative of a certain malady (whatever it is), is obvious to all, he needs to consider something else.

It's his one chance, and he is on the road to blowing it.
