Also if you were to judge on a personal level humility. So many footballers in this day and age seem like arrogant stuck up wankers its nice when you hear of them being decent people too.

Is that always the case though, I was thinking of players like Kuyt, who give it everything, all the time, as opposed to Berbatov, who, whilst being mightily skillful, isn't quite so industrious, as it were.

Darren Currie is in that class, pity he couldn't run, but great to watch. I love to see two footed players like Darren Currie and the greatest ever Tommy Finney.

Exactly this... The pleasure in watching Berbatov bring down a 40yard pass over his shoulder is beautiful. Bergkamps goal against Argentina in the 98 world cup too. I would also add Henry to this too.
